What Sharon White doesn't like about Bengal Lancer:
We ordered chicken pasanda, tikka and prawn korma. Awful, one big plate of slop. Tiny prawns floating in sauce, no onions or anything else. Live locally but won't return. Charlie Bighams from the supermarket was much better. Avoid Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4 View all feedback.
I would give the meal a total of 3.5 if I am honest, but I will rate 4 instead of a 3. they do not serve chips, but they do a kind of kartoffel. The chicken balti was decent, but nothing important. the hunch was nice, but the actual curry/ sauce did not exist much. very friendly guy on the door to serve
We always have great outliers from bengal lancer. the personal is always very friendly and courteous and has never waited.
Very nice Indian food. the escaping appears small, but he kept a party of 15 and a party of 12 and still had some tables for extra customers. eating was great, everyone was more than satisfied with the quality and amount of each teller (not swimming in oil). the restaurant is not licensed to sell alcohol, but the customers can have their own with the restaurant that supplies the glasses (and cork screw, if necessary). all in all good food, good service and a very pleasant evening.
It is not your typical Indian restaurant. it is quite small, the walls are very simple, painted magnolia, with few decorations, so very basic. there was also no music in the background, so not the ambiente you usually get in an Indian restaurant. but the place was full (it was on Wednesday) so obviously a popular place to go. the food was very nice, the service was good. they bring their own wein or beer, making it a relatiw cheap evening. no frills, but if they go in for the food, they won't be disappointed.
Great food, great service! The quality of the meals was very high nice meat, big serves, lovely naan. We found our curries sweet so maybe ask for less sweet if that is your preference (we had ordered mild dishes). The service was quick and polite and offered everything needed.
