At the 8pm there was a table where the owner's family eat and an other of tourist very confused.. Finally a woman offer us a table.. However, waiting long time we got our food... Pasta and water, €10 per person... What??? €10 euro in Italy I can eat pasta, meat and coffee... Ok, bye bye...

As this place spacia... read more We were on the way to the lake and we stopped in this lovely countryhouse in Costermano just before the roundabout that takes you to Garda. As this place spaciality is the piadina , a special kind of filled toast from the region of Emilia Romagna, we wanted to try one. We were really surprised by the atmosphere and the warm welcoming of the staff. The place has a lovely al-fresco area with benches to sit and pleasantly stay in the shade. We had a very nice piadina with some vegetables and also the cakes/pudding were lovely, Especially the semifreddo all 'amaretto was eccellent. I know this place 's previous management had a different offer but the piadina was great, the atmoshpere was good and the staff was extremely nice. I would reccomend this place to everyone especially foreigners who want to enjoy a nice stay in a friendly envoirement with some nice simple food before arriving to lake. We will definetly stop again on the way to the lake!

The place was fully booked and at the first place it seemed we are not able to have a table as we had no reservation. Then the stuff finally find a table an we sat for a beef dinner. The place was very casual and nice, menu as well. On the list there were only 15€ Rosso veronese, so we asked the friedly waitress, if it is possible to have Valpolicella. ’Of course, we have superiore!’ She replied and we had a deal. For some reason she brought own labeled Rosso Veronese. We asked a male waiter, if we could have Valpolicella as agreed. ’Of course!’he brought another bottle of Rosso Veronese and said: ’Here is your superiore. I am from Valpolicella and this is a fruity wine, that we drink around here stright from the bottle’. Se thought it was some kind of rock’n roll attitude and humour. We were, of course dissappointed to drink that grape juice with beefsteak, wut we assumed they had nothing else. The bill was to be paid inside, where we find two surprizing things. 1. There were a selection of good wines including nice ripassos. 2. Upon checking our bill, there were both Rosso Veronese (15€ and ripasso (30€ on our invoice. As we asked about it, the 30€ were quickly removed, but we had no explanation, how it entered to our bill anyhow. ???
