La Marmotta - CORVARA IN BADIA

We've tried everyday a different rifugio. This one was the best we've tried. Good food, excellent atmosphere. Definitely EAT INSIDE. Worth.

This little hut is a gem and full of character. It is part way down the piste and was not over crowded. The staff are friendly speak good English, thankfully and the quality of the food was simple, tasty and reasonable value for money. It gave great ideas to try at home. The spaghetti with garlic and chilli oil was very simple and welcome when the temperature outside was -10. One of our group had taken a bad fall just prior to arriving at the hut, meaning she was unable to ski any further. Their help in calling the rescue service was much appreciated. Highly recommended.

........although to be fair we didn 't find it ourselves! Someone who lives in the area recommended it. Don 't be deceived by the anonymous exterior. This is not one of those large self service mountain restaurants. La Marmotta is very warm, cosy, welcoming and quaint and serves great local food. If you 're skiing anywhere close, stop by for lunch. It ' 's located right on the side of the piste (can 't remember which one . Even better phone ahead and book a table (it 's popular with those who know about it. Tel. +39 0471 836817 I presume it 's also open in the summer for walkers but I have no experience of that.

Excellent location and comfortably reachable during excursions in the area, pleasant and characteristic cabin, friendly and quick staff, available. excellent traditional menu with adequate portions, average prices, interesting day dishes, excellent liver caneders, I had never eaten them.

During our holiday we had lunch in this beautiful retreat usually very popular, but thanks to the weather forecast not really favorable there were very few people so we enjoyed it in a “exclusive” way! worthy of note the tris of canederli with sauerkraut salad (from dream), as well as the classic potato eggs and speck. all seasoned with extreme kindness and friendliness of the staff. many outdoor games for children, inside the shelter is furnished with goto. if I have to find a small dish maybe the bill a little salty but we have spent it gladly!
