Demaggio's New York Pizza - Corvallis

I completely grasp the idea behind Demaggio's, but our experience was disappointing. It may have been because of the chef's heavy hand with certain ingredients, which ended up overpowering some dishes. It seems like a popular spot for a more sophisticated college crowd. However, if it's trivia night and you're not participating, I would suggest avoiding this place. We were seated in a corner away from the game, but still got heckled by the host for using our phones. We weren't even playing, just planning for the next day. Overall, we won't be coming back.

We have visited this restaurant twice now. The atmosphere is laid back, the pizza is excellent, and I especially appreciate that they offer vegan options, including vegan cheese (perfect for my lactose intolerance). They have a good selection of beer and cider, although not extensive. Customers choose their own seats, order at the bar, collect their own silverware and plates, and clean up their own table when finished. This setup works well for us, as we prefer not to be waited on and don't mind taking care of things ourselves. The restaurant is also kid-friendly.

We have been here twice now. Laid back atmosphere, excellent pizza and I appreciate that they have some vegan options including vegan cheese (I am lactose intolerant). Good choices of beer and cider, not a ton but there is something good in the mix. You pick your own seat, order at the bar, collect plates silverware yourself and bus your table when you are done. Works for us as we don't need to be waited on and we don't mind that at all. It's kid friendly too.

2 of our 3 orders made it to our table, 1 never made it. After 30 minutes we asked where it was and waited another 15 minutes. After a total of an hour waiting we requested a refund. The food that we did receive was very good.

It took over an hour to receive my order, despite only being a few miles away. I ordered the "white sauce" pasta with chicken, but found it to be bland and mushy. I also paid $6.50 for 5 mediocre wings. On the positive side, there was so much raw flour under the pizza that I could bake my own cake.
