My wife and I enjoyed our time dining at Il Foraaio For Mother's Day. My son and his wife and their new child had an enjoyable time also. Also, Melani did a terrific job of looking after all of us. View all feedback.
What Dennis Eisen doesn't like about Il Fornaio:
We were very disappointed to experience a deteriorating quality in the food in the last couple of years as the prices have soared. The branzino, a delicate fish was way overcooked. The black cod was a not a good piece of fish, and the quality got worse from there. The sauce was advertised as a light tomato sauce. Instead, it was more like a Pesca sauce, which was sloped over the fish. If you are going to charge $45 p... View all feedback.
This Italian restaurant has almost all you need to be happy as a client: big, easy parking place, great atmosphere inside, clean tables always covered with white table clothe, beautiful ornaments in holidays time, nice fireplace, large terrace, comfy boots, great bar. The menu is generous, with many choices, and there is something for everybody and for every pocket. The dishes are large and tasty. There are vegetarian options as well. The price is right, considering the location and the quality of food offered. Thank you, guys, for all your efforts to satisfy your hungry customers!? ????
June 2024: Came here for lunch on Father's Day and enjoyed a nice meal. My father enjoyed his meal. Dessert was really good. The chocolate cake was very tasty. Paired well with ice cream. Also had a tiramisu which was also very good. Unfortunately, I ordered the lasagna and was not happy with it. It was covered excessively with bechamel sauce and was, in my opinion, overcooked to the point of being unpleasantly mushy. Quite a shame because I used to eat at Il Fornaio on a monthly basis back when the San Francisco location was still open. I used to really enjoy the regional menu that they had on a monthly basis. Someone ordered the margherita and I tried a piece. It was uninspiring. Bread used to be complimentary with a wonderful variety (olive bread, ciabatta, bread sticks)... but now they charge $3 for a little bit of a baguette. Service was not consistent. Our server was friendly but ignored us a few times. Would consider trying this place again due to my fondness of the Regional menu (pre-pandemic). But I'll order a different pasta next time. And order dessert ?.

But the customer should depart feeling like they've had a very special dinner. This was not.
Great food, staff and ambience. And a wonderful Happy Hour!!?
Interesting daily specials plus a large menu of classics. Good service, extensive wine list.
