After a bit of searching in the Padstow area we came across this gem. Service was top notch, even a bowl of water and a biscuit for our dog. Food was amazing, half a lobster which was cooked to perfection and a steak which again was perfect, can highly recommend Rafferty’s and will certainly return again when we can. Price also very reasonable, stay away from being ripped off in Padstow and come here instead. View all feedback.
What Michelle B doesn't like about Rafferty's Cafe Wine:
Booked weeks in advance and our table wasn’t ready. Waited 45 mins for starters. Rarebit that was burned and wings that were dry. Didn’t eat them and they were immediately taken from the bill. Both had fillet for main. Beautiful meat cooked internally to perfection but the char grilling was either too hot or the grill wasn’t that clean. It was so chargrilled it tasted a bit acrid. The host was a great chap and so bus... View all feedback.
We have a hoilday home in St merryn and we stay in Cornwall most weeks. We have visted raffertys on many occasions and it never disappionts. Great menu, food absolutely spot on, service amazing and you can see the kitchen staff cooking your meal and it was lovely to hear them all chatting and laughing. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting. Would recommend booking welldone eveyone who works there 10/10
From walking in to leaving everyone was welcoming to us and the dog. You can tell when somewhere is truly dog friendly when they bring you a water bowl without being asked and make as much fuss of the dog as they do the humans! Food was excellent and service was second to none. Atmosphere was perfect in the restaurant too. Will definitely go back next time we’re down here.
We had an exceptional evening meal at this restaurant. The staff were welcoming and the main restaurant was spacious, well-lit, and beautifully decorated. The menu offered a variety of options at very reasonable prices, including the drinks. I started with the crispy oysters with clotted cream, which was one of the best starters I've ever had. For the main course, I had the Rump of Lamb and my wife had the Crusted Hake, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area - you won't be disappointed.
My family and I were staying in St Merryn and decided to make a reservation for dinner at a restaurant. Although we understand that Saturday evenings can be busy, we were disappointed with the overall experience considering the price we paid. The staff were friendly and our drinks were served promptly. However, there were some issues with the timing of our food. One of the starters my husband ordered for his main course took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive, and our mains took nearly two hours to be served. There was no apology for the long wait when the food finally came out. We usually avoid complaining and try to go with the flow, but the quality of the cote de boeuf was poor, with a lot of fat and tough meat that was under seasoned. The hake and potatoes were enjoyable, but the sauce had an overwhelming amount of garlic in it. We requested to have the leftover beef packaged for our dogs, but were later informed that it had been thrown away. Despite the waiter's apologies, we left feeling disappointed with the entire dining experience. It was a shame because we had initially planned to dine there again during the rest of our holiday.
This is our favorite restaurant, we always make sure to visit at least once, and sometimes even more, when we are in the area. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, with a wide variety of freshly caught fish on the menu. We highly recommend stopping by if you are in the Padstow area.
