New China Restaurant - Corner Brook

I was a bit shocked and I not sure if true but when served chop suey it was made with cabbage instead of bean sprouts. The waitress said that all chop suey in NFLD is made this way. I have been to St John's and do not remember this fact to call this bluff so make sure you ask before ordering your "normal" Chinese dishes in Newfoundland they might not be made as they are everywhere else in the world LOL..

We get take out here from time to time. On this particular visit we had a dinner for four and one specialty dish. The dinner for four was fresh and hot, but the specialty dish did not resemble Kung Pao Chicken. Canned corn and peas do not belong in Kung Pao Chicken, but peanuts do :). Other than that, service was fast and friendly and prices reasonable.

This restaurant serves very good, Chinese food. Both eat in & take out service is good. Friendly, courteous staff.

The food was boring, unauthentic, and more Canadian than Chinese. We started with hot and sour soup. It was watery, and the tofu was stringy, and didn't taste like any other hot and sour soup I've ever had. It was strange tasting! The almond soo guy had no almonds and the gravy was not what you would typically expect with that dish. The chicken fried rice tasted like it came from a package. And the chicken balls were the frozen variety, more batter than chicken. The sauce was overly sweet and probably from a jar.

Walmartに買い物に行ったので、ついでに隣にあるココで食事。カナダの標準的中華料理。つまり不味い。チャーハンはどう見ても作り置きしてあったものを温め直しているだけ。サンラータンは、タバスコを薄めたような味。なんじゃこりゃ？これで$20オーバー… 価格も高すぎです。
