After a night of rain while camping at Brunet Island State Park, I decided to indulge in a warm meal at Sam’s Place, and it did not disappoint. This restaurant is the perfect spot for a lovingly crafted and delicious meal. I had the homemade chicken and dumpling soup, which featured a wonderful mix of shredded white and dark meat—it was simply perfect. I also ordered a burger and fries, and everything was served hot. The burger was enormous, and the fries were delightfully crispy. The quality was exceptional, and I appreciated how every employee took the time to engage in conversation with me, from the waitstaff to the kitchen staff. The atmosphere was very friendly, with employees who genuinely wanted their customers to enjoy their meals. I also noticed that they offer vegetarian options, including a meatless burger on the menu. Highly recommended!
This restaurant was very conveniently located near the Old Abe Trail, and I was happy to see that they offered a veggie burger. I believe it was a Beyond Burger.
Good food, very friendly service, decent prices. I'd probably stop again if I was in the area.
