We were visiting Friuli to gain a better understanding of Italian wines of the region and La Subida 's location in the heart of the Collio region, straddling northeastern Italy and Slovenia, was ideal. La Subida itself offers phenomenal peace and tranquility and great accommodations. Moreover, its Trattoria al Cacciatore offers what is certainly as fine a dining experience as possible in the region. An absolute must (to stay, as well as to dine) if spending any time in Friuli.
