Despite mixed reviews, the restaurant offers a good menu with potential. The location and ambiance receive high praise, while the service is friendly but lacks training. Some dishes were disappointing, such as the garlic potatoes and chicken liver pate. However, the dessert options like the chocolate brownie and eton mess received positive feedback. While the food may not always meet expectations, the overall experience at the restaurant is seen as pleasant, and it is still recommended for a visit. With room for improvement in the service and food quality, the restaurant remains a charming spot for a meal.

Was Anonym at Mcgettigan's Cookhouse a mag?
Almost like a quaint coffee shop stuck into a hotel. Lovey bookcases everywhere filled with an old timey aesthetic. Food was lovely and well priced although if you are seated nearer to the open kitchen you can hear the chefs shouting or their loud conversations. Our waitress Kim was very friendly, cheerful and attentive along with her co-workers! Would definitely recommend. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Mcgettigan's Cookhouse:
The staff and location weresl very nice and ambient.. But the food was not up to par.The chicken liver pate was very grey in appearance. Was served with stale chewy toast and not presented in a great manner. The cheeseboard given the price could be served with more finesse and more variety of cheese and actual Melba toast as opposed to stale chewy cold toast. View all feedback.
Went here as part of Cork on a Fork. The food was really tasty and lovely atmosphere in the bar.
It's not exactly a grill bar as it was written. It's a restaurant inside the hotel. The menu does not correspond to the reality of the photo. So is the price. My advice to the website administrator is to update the information. But the place is very pleasant, the atmosphere is cozy with couches, the food is delicious and the staff are very welcoming. It's good for a nice family dinner.
The restaurant is located in a stunning setting and exudes a tranquil ambiance. The staff are welcoming and diligent.
The value for price is not good at this restaurant. The appetizer was very lackluster and the soup was not vegetable as expected, but rather potato soup. The fish was not fresh and the dessert consisted of two cookies with two strawberries. It seems like the chef lacks passion in their cooking.
