What Paul Farrar dislikes about The Brook Inn:
Very slow service, felt ignored by server. Once our order was taken, dinner was served quickly. Food presentation and taste excellent. Then, after the table was cleared and we declined desert, We waited more than 10 minutes to get our check. Then, after waiting another 10 minutes, I went and asked someone to ring us out. There was a large group of us that visited from all over the world. The service was absolutely fantastic. The food all came out hot, well presented and on time. We didn’t have to wait long. Everyone said how good their meal was.
We really liked the restaurant; it was efficient, fast, and friendly. The food was good and plentiful, and the waitresses were nice. It was very busy on a Monday night, which speaks for itself. I found the prices very reasonable.
Good food, good service, good attention, but the value for money isn't great. I went with my partner and it was fine. I recommend making a reservation.
We Visited here after driving through the Ring of Kerry and stopping for an overnight stay in Cork and we are so glad we did. The food was phenomenal and possibly the best we’ve had while we’ve been on holiday here in Ireland. The baked Cod was amazing as well as the fried chips. You should definitely stop in if driving nearby.

Every time we come to stay in Cork, regardless of the hotel we stay in, we always book a meal in our favourite restaurant in Cork. We've even booked three evenings in a row at times. Great food, great staff and great value.
I had my 40th Birthday celebration in this restaurant last Saturday. I must say it was perfect from start to finish. I arrived a bit earlier and our area was already ready. We were brought to a lovely private section, which was beautifully decorated and spacious. While all our guests had enough room on the tables, the area was cosy at the same time, just right for a little get-together. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. There is a nice variety of food offered, something for everyone and to a reasonable price. The staff was very welcoming, nothing was asked too much, they really went the extra mile for us. The restaurant and restroom areas as well as the outside were spotless, nice and clean. I cannot praise this restaurant enough and would highly recommend it to others. A big thank you to Greg and Gosia and all the kitchen and service staff. Thank you for making my day special. I will for sure return!
I was in the mood for a bite to eat specifically a steak everything close to me was closed based in Mitchelstown located in Glanmire it’s very easy to get to the Brook Inn from where I Am 30 minutes off the motorway. I called ahead and they had availability orders need to be in 20.15 this was a Tuesday night wasn’t a issue I was here by 19.45 The front is very picturesque a Irish cottage feel, inside is modern and clean ambiance wasn’t the best since only part of the restaurant was being used and the crowd was thin even then however as stated this was getting close to final orders on a weekday so what I expected. Service was friendly and efficient I was greeted and seated straight away and order was taken promptly there was no lingering at the table or much in the way of chat but I was checked at every course and when I looked for someone they were there straight away so no complaints. For the meal I had the Slow Cooked Belly of Pork for starters served with Honey Glaze, Crisp Potato Rosti, Apple and Cider Gel. This was delicious crispy yet still soft and tender one of the nicer pieces of pork I have had in awhile. For mains I had Grilled 10 Oz Sirloin Steak – €5 Supplement on the early bird Sauté Onions, Triple Cooked Chips, Red Onion Purée, Peppercorn Sauce or Garlic and Rosemary Butter this was a lovely piece of meat my one complaint was I ordered it medium rare and it was very unevenly cooked however Didnt affect my enjoyment still very flavourful however I tend to be happy as long as a steak isn’t either cold and blue or medium well or above which I find inedible . Chips were crispy and perfectly cooked. I had a cappuccino to finish , a Coke Zero along with my starter and mail plus a supplement for the steak of €5.00 this came to around 40 euros approx this was ridiculously good value in my opinion since a lot of places are approaching or exceeding €30 euros for the steak alone For a quick casual type it well exceeded expectations would definitely come again if opportunity presents itself. Side note I availed of the early bird but it isn’t clear on the menus where and when this is run to it’s probably worth it in my opinion if your not set on a specific time to call ahead and book to make use of the EB if possible it is one of the better ones I have come across and very good value for money.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like the staff knew us all their lives…….. very friendly but not over the top. My wife and myself share the tasting board: Pâté, chicken wings in a blue cheese dressing and Terrine of pork while our son had the Rosti potato cakes. Mains consisted of Lamb for my wife, Sirloin steak for our son cooked to absolute perfection and I had the Seafood Board which had Batted Fish on a bed of pea purée, fried prawns and Crab Claws. The Chef wasn’t happy with the Claws and substituted another helping of prawns instead . An absolutely fantastic meal in a lovely restaurant only a long stonesthrow from where we live. Keep up the good work guys!!!!!!!!

Nice vibe about the place, staff friendly and helpful. The food is top quality can't go wrong with this place
This is a lovely place with amazing food. Friendly staff and quick service. We were there around 12.20 and they served our lunch in few minutes. I would say it's a classy restaurant with excellent food. Prices are just around €12 -17 for main course per person. Highly recommended and definitely visit again.
What a fantastic place for family, food and relaxation. Great environment. The staff was 11 out of 10. Food was from this world. I want to go back. It was so good. I recommend this place because of my experience there.
Went in for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed. Lovely food and I love there Christmas decorations. Highly recommend
