Description

Aroma restaurant in Cork offers a vegan-friendly menu, but falls short in vegan options and knowledge. Many found the food overpriced and low quality, with lack of proper cooking techniques for tofu and bland flavors. However, some enjoyed the dim sum and non-vegan dishes. The restaurant's staff received praise for friendliness and accommodating service. Overall, the establishment offers a mixed experience, with some diners recommending the vegetarian menu for vegan options and early bird menu for value. Visitors suggest improvements in food quality, ambiance, and complimentary items to enhance the dining experience.

Expensive for what you get. We weren’t allowed to add tofu to our veggie Szechuan dish so we had to order the fried tofu appetizer and add it in ourselves. They use silken tofu and then tempura fry it. The sweet sour sauce was way too sweet and made the tempura gummy. The restaurant offers a vegetarian menu but it isn’t very vegan friendly and the waitress wasn’t familiar with vegan either. They don’t have hot sauce like sriracha or chili paste, just bland homemade chili oil. Overall, kind of disappointing. Needs work.

We ordered the tofu vegetables, a mixed vegetable dish, vegetable fried rice, and a side order of noodles. Unfortunately, while they have a vegan menu and are very vegan friendly when ordering, it was probably some of the worst Chinese I've ever had. The veggies were very fresh, but the meals were laden with super soggy rice noodles and the tofu was silken (good for soups, not for deep frying) and covered in a slop of mushy corn starch that dripped off the tofu(clearly they didn't know how to properly fry tofu). The veggie fried rice was bland. Will not return. Chinese restaurants that have vegan-by-accident items are many times better (and many times cheaper). My partner ate the side order of noodles and that was all he could stomach.

The restaurant has a nice setting. The food is consistent and good. The staff understand what vegan dishes include and don't include. I recommend getting fried rice with your dish instead of boiled rice.

I dine in Thursday 26/07/26. Food was lovely and very reasonable priced. I decided tonight 27/02/26 to treat my family to take out. It worked out more expensive for take out than dine in ????

We ordered the lunch menu. The food was good, but we were a little hungry, it wasn't enough to be honest
