Contribute Feedback What Wendy Schrodt likes about Dupont Lodge:
The room was clean and furnished nicely, towels were soft and fluffy. The door to the room was hard to open, so I had to give it a good shove. Would definitely go back. View all feedback.
What Michelle Block doesn't like about Dupont Lodge:
Lodge rooms are bare bones and dated. No microwave, no fridge, thin walls, loud doors. Furnature is dated scuffed. However, the building, surroundings and outdoor spaces are beautiful. Limited restaurant menus but good food, prices service. Nice, free breakfast buffet. View all feedback.
This charming older establishment is a wonderful place to spend a few nights. The Falls are just a short drive away—only about 4 to 5 miles—and they are absolutely breathtaking! The view from the back overlooking the river at night is also amazing, especially after lunch when the sun sets behind you, illuminating the river below. Highly recommended!
Overall, we had a pleasant stay with great staff. However, I would recommend soundproofing the doors. The shower temperature tends to change from warm to hot too quickly. Please note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but they do offer a complimentary breakfast. The Moonbow restaurant stays open until 6 PM. I highly recommend the Whistle Stop for dinner, although it is 17 miles away. We really appreciated the hiking suggestions from Karen, who works here—she is very kind and has a great sense of humor!
We stayed in one of the woodland cabins and encountered a bit of an ant problem, but we understand that we're in the woods. Unfortunately, there was no hand soap or body wash provided. Overall, everything else was good.
Overall, it was a good experience. The rooms were clean, and we slept very well. However, the maintenance of the facilities could use some improvement. The concierge service was friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, with easy access to Cumberland Falls, which is particularly great for viewing the moonbow at night. Unfortunately, the continental breakfast was disappointing. The food supplies were inadequate, leading to long lines at the single serving station. Many items ran out before they should have, and it seemed like the cook stopped preparing food well before the dining room was supposed to close. Additionally, the dining staff appeared annoyed when we asked them to replenish coffee cups that were otherwise ready to serve. This place is a good choice for a night's rest while witnessing one of the rarest natural phenomena in the world, but it feels like not all the staff are invested in enhancing that experience.
The room was clean and well-furnished, and the towels were soft and fluffy. However, the door to the room was difficult to open, requiring a good shove to get it to budge. Overall, I would definitely return.
