absolutely outstanding! we really enjoyed our meal, the escargot and smoked meat Mediterranean salad starters were delicious. our main courses were excellently cooked and presented. desserts were perfect compliments for the rest of the meal. the house roses and red wines made perfect references. that's all. What User doesn't like about Le Grill Picard:
We expected the name to have grilled meat, but not even a piece of beef. A more than light plate. On the other hand, nice reception and pleasant but very disappointing kitchen and menu View all feedback.
After visiting the Chemin des Dames we wanted to have lunch. We had a hard time finding a restaurant in this area and after some searching, this was the first one we came across. We sat on the terrace which wasn't very coze because it was located next to street with quite some traffic. The food though was really nice. I had a mushroom omelet and my friend filet americain, which was also really good. We had a carafe of rose wine which also tasted very nice. The staff was really friendly. This is one of those restaurants were I wouldn't necessarily stop if there would have been other options, but I'm really glad we did. If I ever visit this region again, I would eat there again.
The restaurant offers a great €18 fixed price menu and for a grand total of €45 we had dinner for 2 with a decent pichet of white wine. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. It is wonderfully confusing to have two restaurants in the same small village with the same name. Corbeny's only hotel (where we were staying), the Chemin Des Dames, offers dinner at its own le Grill Picard. On arriving at the hotel, we had been told they were fully booked for dinner and no mention was made of this restaurant, a mere 500 metres walk away. When we initially enquired, we thought it was the hotel's restaurant. It isn't. It is totally separate and run by 2 charming and enthusiastic young chaps.
We had planned a walk around the Chemin des Dames and wanted lunch before we set off. Warm welcome and a modest price set lunch with wine by the pichet. Good hearty fare in a pleasant environment in the rear conservatory.
Pleasant restaurant with a very good reception. good traditional cuisine.
