We returned to Sol on two separate occasions to try more of their delicious Korean offerings. On our most recent visit, we, a senior couple, enjoyed a late breakfast/early lunch. We ordered Jjin Mandu (dumplings filled with minced meat and vegetables), Odeng (Fishcake in Broth), Pat Kalguksu (Korean noodle dish), and Wang Mandu (steamed buns filled with pork and vegetables). Each dish was hot, flavorful, and indicati... View all feedback.
The skin of the steamed dumplings was thin and the meat and vegetables were marinated so well that we didn't even need to dip them in soy sauce or any other sauces. The flavor was perfect. The noodles were chewy and had just the right texture. Although there was no meat in the bowl, there were vegetables and eggs in the soup. I will definitely come back to try other dishes next time. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was cozy with only a few tables.
We came back to Sol's for breakfast/lunch during our recent stay in the area and were eager to try more of their delicious Korean dishes. We ordered and shared Jjin Mandu (steamed dumplings), Odeng (fish cakes in broth), and Pat Kalguksu (Korean noodle dish). The food was large, flavorful, and served piping hot. We really enjoyed our meal and found it to be a great value dining experience. On another occasion, we discovered Sol's during a morning walk and decided to try their fish cake soup and steamed dumplings. The dishes were freshly prepared, tasty, and served hot. The small, cozy restaurant mostly caters to take-out orders but also has a few tables for sit-down customers. Overall, we were pleased with our meals at Sol's and will definitely be back for more.
We have returned to Sol's on two separate occasions since my previous review - just had to try some more of their good Korean food offerings!!Again, we (senior couple) were there to dine-in, for a late-breakfast/early-lunch. Here's what we ordered and shared: - Jjin Mandu (steamed dumplings) - the dumplings (10 of them) stuffed with minced beef and veggies - served piping hot to the table, quite large, and very tasty. - Odeng (fish cakes in broth) - fish cakes (I counted five different kinds), in a light, soy-flavoured broth - served steaming hot, and flavourful.- Pat Kalguksu (Korean noodle dish) - large, hand-made Korean noodles, along with a few veggies, condiments, and an egg, in an in-house prepared Azuki bean paste soup - steaming hot, and so good!! - Wang Mandu (steamed buns) - large, stuffed with pork and veggies - like having a big meat dumpling within a steamed bun - yum!! With each dining experience, Sol's continues to do it for us -- tasty food, and good-value dining!!
We discovered this little Korean sit-in/take-out snack place during a recent morning walkabout in Hanin Village. Sol's was open, we peaked in, and decided it would be perfect for a breakfast snack. We were right, and sure glad we decided to go in and try some of their food. It's a little place, with four small tables, serving mostly take-out orders, I suspect, and opens at 10am. The cook was busy preparing a take-out order when we came in at 10:30am, and became her first sit-down customers. We shared orders of fish cake soup and steamed dumplings. The soup was a good-sized bowl worth, with several different types of fish cakes, in a mild and flavourful, light stock. The dumplings (10 of them) large, and well-stuffed with a mixture of minced beef and veggies. Both dishes were freshly prepared and tasty, and served piping hot to our table. Our kind of breakfast, and it sure "hit-the-spot". We liked Sol's little place!!
I tried this restaurant once last yearToday I am coming back here to try their food the second time.
