We met our friends here to have dim sum for lunch; the place is nice, roomy and clean. The sever was attentive. At that time the restaurant had a promotion: if you ordered 3 dishes of dim sums or more you can order a bowl...of steamed spareribs with rice for $2.99. We ordered 7 dishes, some good and some were not up to par. Their prawn dumplings, deep fried shrimp cheese balls and Glutinous rice ball were good. We ar... View all feedback.
What Dustin Welch doesn't like about Grand River Seafood Restaurant Ltd:
We 've been here a few times but for dinner (haven 't had dim sum here so this review does not reflect that). Unlike most other Chinese seafood restaurants, this one does not offer combination dinners (which is a little disappointing). Dishes are ordered individually and appear...a bit higher in price than other Chinese restaurants in the surrounding area. No complaints about quality or taste of food, although the la... This review is going to be mixed, a great start with an unhappy ending.
It's been quite some time since I've had food from this Ruby Tuesday and now I remember why.
Restaurant isn't clean despite just opening Their burger are more expensive than Grub just down the street that specializes in burgers.
Their hours give us much flexibility for getting together for Dim Sum. 9 am to 3 pm daily. An added bonus is a 10% discount from 9 to 11 am. The staff are very welcoming. We usually make a reservation if there are more than four of us from 11 am on. That's when it starts to really get busy. Photos of the Dim Sum dishes accompany the diverse menu. Orders are marked on the menu and delivered to the table. Prices are reasonable for the good sized portions. There are many delicious choices for all tastes. The restaurant is quite spacious and located in an area with ample parking. From 3 pm to 10 pm the Asia Kitchen has a set dinner menu with 50 dishes - priced by orders of 2 to 6 dishes. There is no home delivery, but a 10% discount is allowed for pick-up orders.
First time for lunch. Good crowd, which usually bodes well. Quickly seated and given a Dim Sum menu which was well laid out and varied. Ordered spring rolls, sticky rice, pork shu mai, steamed pork buns, soy sauce premium noodles, and chicken and mushroom with rice. Lots of food, but we were hungry. Wait staff was great. Courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the meal, except for the chicken mushroom rice which was total ****. Dangerously full of sharp chicken bone fragments, and no taste to it. Otherwise, the shu mai, pork buns, and sticky rice were excellent. The premium soy sauce noodles were absolutely delicious! Great balance of crunchy spring onions and perfectly al dente noodles. Tremendous dish with perfect smoky wok hints. All that food for $28. Generous servings, too. Will definitely go back for lunch.
