Frog & Nightgown - Coquitlam

We often meet friends here for a casual dining and beverage to enjoy a relaxed evening. Enjoy Sports, Keno or Video poker. Often have entertainment including Karaoke on Thursdays Like the Thursday special of Fish n Chips or Fridays Steak sandwich

A really good local pub on a side street, out of the way of the main strip and strangely named "The Frog and Nightgown Public House and Liquor Store". What a mouthful! But what you put in your mouth once you get there is delicious. They have typical pub food, like fish 'n chips, wings and nachos. They also offer tempting specilaities like Thai Chili Chicken, Yam fries & Chipotle dip, Crab & Prawn Penne. The menu is so large, and so varied, you would have to eat here every day for about a month and a half to get through it. Everything we have tried over numerous visits has been delicious. The fish 'n chips, the Creole Rice Bowl, the potato skins, the Italian Melt sandwich... my mouth is watering just writng this., We drank of course, and it was good. They have the usual assortment of beverages plus some funnily named specilaty drinks. They also name hteir specials very creatively. I get a kick out of "We Hate Mondays" and Tuesday is "Drink Your Dad's Beer" day with domestic draught Beer only $4.25 (Canadian, Coors, Budweiser, Moosehead) They have $2 Tacos All Day long as well and plenty of other incentives to get in there and partake,The atmosphere is real pub style, with booths and worn wooden tables and dim lighting (but not dingy) The staff is friendly and accomodating.

This was chosen randomly by my husband and I one evening. We were looking for a local pub with the locals and came upon the Frog & Nightgown. The waitress was wonderful and the food was average, however the atmosphere was good and our only major complaint was that the people smoking outside in the outdoor seating would stand too close to the door to the main portion of the pub and we were knocked out from the smoke that came indoors. I suffer badly from cigarette smoke and sadly this was not a good experience for me. I feel the staff should get all smokers to stand at least 6 ft away from the entrance to the main portion of the pub - respecting those of us who do not smoke. Not sure if I'd go back soon again.

We went here for wings on a Wednesday they are 49 cents that night. The wings themselves were very delicious. I had sweet Thai chili which was good and there were 4 or 5 other flavours. The service was very bad. When we first sat down the waitress asked if we wanted drinks but never again. I got a water which was never refilled and she didn't come check on us for me to ask for it. Also the food took a very long time to come out despite the restaurant being quite empty. The food was good though.

This is a nice pub, but it is a bit "worn" nowadays - the food/menu is still quite good and the service from staff is acceptable.
