Three of us ate al fresco in a cool night, but when we were well wrapped, we chose to stay outside, although the owner said we were welcome to eat inside. The menu is limited, but what there is fresh and of good quality. It is also quietly prepared with a friendly service. The ambience is very relaxed with a good mix of families, couples and individual locals. Definitely worth a return trip! View all feedback.
What Lorena Peter doesn't like about Auberge de Gy:
fair meals & family-style service. We've went there during our long walk at countryside. Nice place, very local. It was a day of public holiday, they only had a daily menu. We've chosen marinated herring as starter (it was fresh & good, though the taste was quite sweet, which was somewhat strange). I took duck confit as main dish (it was good), my husband preferred fish (fera) - it was good too. Tart de pruneau (plum... View all feedback.
First of all, you need to understand that this is not a classic restaurant with menus and services, of course there is a menu, but the owner cooks what she likes and what they find best to use. To be prepared, it's better to buy them and ask what you want. This restaurant is the extension of the family kitchen. The food is amazing and Marie Jo (I agree that setting can be strange for the first time) is super beautiful, we feel that she loves to share what she loves to cook. She has her temperament, I agree, but after a few times, you know that you come for food, but also for a chat with her, she is the Saoul of the place.

We have been here several times and have ALWAYS had a wonderful experience. The food is tremendous and the restaurant is authentic.

Menu costs 50 fr per person, service is friendly but slow (which is typical for this type of places people are mainly local, they go to the restaurant to talk enjoy their time for longer then we usually do: my conclusion: it's a nice place if you are in neighborhood, but probably I would not go there deliberately:
