Sugar Shack Bakery - Coos Bay

YUM!!!! Really great breads, delicious pies, and donuts to die for!! I love LOVE donuts but detest too much sugar and glaze...these guys do it right. Not too much, nice yeasty donuts and twists (which are HUGE) and really yummy chocolate frosting. This place is dangerous to a diet but oh so worth it.

I love doughnuts and have had the opportunity of eating 'em throughout our land, and this Coos Bay gem is great. The glazed cake blueberry d-nut and the blackberry Danish were delicious. The standard I use to judge a shop is the chocolate old fashion which they were out of. When you 're in beautiful Coos Bay, OR, stop in this place and get a Bigfoot, a great cream filled raised in a shape of a big foot. Solid, gimmicky and fun to say, I ate a Bigfoot in Coos Bay.

The donuts never disappoint me. They are always so fresh, fluffy, and yummy goodness. I thought I was going to miss out this trip to Coos Bay as the doors were locked and it was 3:15pm. They close at 3pm on Mondays. But then suddenly a man appeared out the door and asked if I needed help. I said I just wanted a donut. He told me to come on in. The staff inside was warm and friendly and just one more reason why this place is 5 stars.

This was our first time here. The donuts were dry and over $3 a piece! Do not order the biscuits and gravy!! The gravy tasted awful and looked like frosting. The place is dirty and prices aren't listed. The young woman who helped us was friendly...

Maybe we came a little later in the day, but there was almost no selection. Prices are high. It's an odd spot, but cool inside. Quality is pretty good for the baked items, coffee wasn't great, but it's not too far off from being a truck stop, so...
