Vegan! Thai-riffic - Coorparoo

Tasty vegan food that is priced well. Highly recommended

This business operates as a Virtual Restaurant/Dark Kitchen, meaning there is no physical front, staff, or attendants. Customers place their order and check in using a tablet in a waiting room, and their food is placed in a designated pigeon hole for pickup. The establishment is located within a building called Park Side Food Co, which houses several kitchens under the Chef Collective. Unfortunately, my experience with this vendor, Vegan Thai Riffic, was disappointing. The pickup took over an hour, the food was undercooked, overs seasoned, overly sweetened, and not worth the money. There were only three reviews at the time, one of them being mine. I found it questionable that there were five-star Google reviews, with one claiming there was no plastic packaging (while all lids were plastic) and another praising the service despite the lack of staff. Additionally, there were multiple mobile numbers listed online and no way to cancel an order. Despite attempting to cancel by phone, I was informed that cancellations could only be done online - even though there was no option to do so on the website. When I arrived at Park Side Food Co in Coorparoo, there was no staff present, only a tablet for ordering through services like Menulog, Uber Eats, and Door Dash. The food took over an hour to be prepared, with the tablet as the only source of order status. The portion sizes were small, lacking tofu or protein in dishes like the ginger stir fry and massaman curry. The vegetables in the curry were undercooked and hard. I was greatly disappointed as I realized that I could have gotten better quality food in a shorter time, and at a lower cost, from other restaurants. The satay tofu was described as cardboard-like, with excessively sweet sauces and a lack of ginger flavor in the stir fry.

The food at this restaurant is really good and reasonably priced. I also love that they don't use plastic packaging, which is great.

This restaurant is closed! Avoid ordering from here. Despite advertising being open until 12 or 1am, they frequently close early. Drivers have arrived multiple times only to find the restaurant closed, wasting everyone's time. Meal type: Dinner. Price per person: A$20–40.
