First time to be here and love the flavour. The decor of the restaurant is a bit grand compared to other similar Thai/Asian restaurant. When we checked in, the waiter pointed us to the table on one side and told us there's a big party (long table) at the other side so it would be a bit noisy. What a good service. Food-wise we love everything we ordered. Tom Kha with Chicken as a entree. Tamarind Prawns and Red Curry... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Siam Thai Restaurant:
We arrived on time, were seated and we ordered We waited and we waited and waited and waited and........ We watched bemused as other diners who had arrived well after us were served their meals. We left with only a mumbled apology acknowledging our departure. Clearly we can't express a view on the quality of the food. Who knows it may have been fantastic, but we wont be back. There are too many other Thai restaurants... View all feedback.
Walked into a nice clean place..the food was brilliant and the service great no rush and friendly.. price was very good and we will be going back..BYO if you want.
They say first impressions count this certainly does for this restaurant. Upon arrival you are met with a very dirty carpeted stairway leading up to the restaurant, which when we arrived had one table of diners on a Saturday night (very big restaurant area). I decided whilst my partner checked the menu to inspect the toilets. A staircase led down to these if I thought the front carpet was dirty this could only be described as filthy, warily I viewed the toilets, two pink shower cubicles? With floral curtains (not shower curtains) a massive room with an old dirty baby changing table in the middle, the wash hand basins were filthy, needless to say I hotfooted it back upstairs we left. Based on carpets toilets I could only imagine what the kitchen must be like, no thank you. Not surprised the place was empty makes me question the amount of positive reviews? Really? If like me you value cleanliness high standards then this isn't the place for you. There are plenty of beautifully clean restaurants to spend your money that's what we did.
Attended Siam on a deal voucher and very very presently suprised. Really delicious food. Will definitely be returning and tell as many people as we know. A great Thai restaurant
I am so glad we found this restaurant, the food was delicious! After just coming back from Thailand, we were excited to have a traditional Thai meal and we were not let down. The decor is Art Deco, but the restaurant was clean and nicely presented. The service was okay, nothing extraordinary, but the food more than made up for it. I highly recommend the red curry with roasted duck, it was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing!
We read some of the reviews here and thought that we would give this a go since we have driven past the door numerous times. First impression was the restaurant was a bit dated but you can't judge a book by its cover so we proceeded. Ordered entrée of fried chicken in pandan leaves and a mixed entrée. 30 minutes later we were still waiting for our entrees amid apologies from the wait staff of how busy it was (half full is not busy! . Finally they arrive and mixed entree is only just warm, one spring roll is partially burnt and the curry puff just tastes like fried potato. On the other hand pandan chiken is lovely with a very tasty sauce. Next is stuffed squid and fish 3 ways. Sguid is served in a soup and the and the taste is nice but the squid and stuffing is bland and rubbery. Fish 3 ways was ok but again nothing to write home about. Coconut rice was nice but a little sweet and that was where ended. Had to rush out to make our movie so unfortunately can't say anything about dessert. Would we go back......probably not......would we recommend to friends......probably not and so our search continues.
