I ate at this restaurant, now named "Sushi Goi", on a Wednesday in mid March 2013.It was busy, and I had to queue for a couple of minutes for a seat. It was the usual sushi train deal: take a plate off the conveyor, eat, and the waiting staff count your plates at the end. The chefs prepared dishes in front of us.There was a good supply and range of fresh sashimi and sushi, and other Japanese treats, circulating. The... View all feedback.
What Malcolm Y doesn't like about Su Shi:
This place is massive missed opportunity , since it reopening it is such a disappointment , the staff all look bored , looking at their phones in the middle of the restaurant including the chef. I asked for a takeout like I have done a million times and it was like watching paint dry the chef was so slow . Makes you wounded why these guys get into hospitality in the first place . Food is average . For the only sushi... View all feedback.
Prepare yourself ahah I used to come 2, maybe 3 times a week to this place, with family or friends or just by myself eva use this place WAS so great, since it’s renovation it’s completely busted : i’ve been trying to remain positive about it for a long time i’m talking years) but every time i’ve gone it’s been subpar using nice words here the entire appeal of the restaurant has been stripped, somehow they chose a new design that makes the same space actually feel smaller than what it is, it’s super dull prison cell vibes. if you haven’t been you won’t know what i mean but if youve been you know lol, that’s the least important part, none of the hours they list are correct, the kitchen closes when the employees decide they want to go home, past that they barely pay attention to you when you’re at the door or when you’re actually sitting down to eat , i’m not exaggerating, i once sat for 15 minutes to try get my bill : when it was nearly empty, again trying to remain positive lol. i’ve tried to go to the restaurant for the past 2 days to find they’ve closed *hours* before they’re actually supposed to. the staff in general are seemingly not managed by anybody or they’re literally just lazy, again this is the nicest way i can put it. they do not have any sense of customer service. the food is so average always has been but it was the only place in coogee with past tense) nice and efficient staff, they weren’t being slaved or rushing but i mean the people currently there don’t give a fk about their work tbh. been a coogee local my whole life and this place will not last another year if something doesn’t change : hurts my heart to rate 1 star but whoever runs this place needs to pull their head out of the sand, they’re missing out on so much money. switch it up asap, or at least make sure the people you hire know they’re working at a sushi restaurant : good luck

After going here for 9 years I won’t be back
You can tell all the seafood topping are very fresh, you can wait for the train to deliver you newest order, nice experience! Very friendly to the kids. Price is fair enough. They also do take away and walk in. Very nice choice when you go to coogee beach. T
The newly renovated air conditioned Sushigoi is sensational, with very fresh seafood. You sit at a classy marble bench top under a stunning glass fish sculpture. As the sushi train goes past you, you just grab what you want. The staff are courteous and helpful, getting us fresh wasabi and ginger when requested. We really enjoyed the super fresh salmon, tuna and kingfish sashimi and loved the popping flying fish roe on the Inari boats. If you want a quick healthy lunch after a swim at the beach, this is the best spot in Coogee. Enjoy.
Don’t bother. Not authentic in any way. Service terrible. At 8:50 they basically kicked us out. Extremely rude and ungrateful for the business. BAD!!!!
