Ate dinner here whilst at the hotel for an overnight stay. There was only one veggie main course option, but I was able to swap it around with the accompaniment from another dish to create a truly awesome meal. Amazingly tasty, generous portions top service. Much much better than the hotel food I'm used to. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What FWJM66 doesn't like about Princes Arms:
Had dinner here during a recent stay in the area. As soon as we entered the hotel, it smelt musty, looked very tired and we felt we were back in the 1970s. I’m not sure which room we were taken to for our dinner but it didn’t resemble any if those in the photos on the website. Our food was nothing special, just ‘fine’, although a pavlova is a little more than a meringue nest piled high with scoops of ice cream! Very,... View all feedback.
Delicious food in this hotel. The atmosphere is right, Old English. The host was excellent. Nothing's rushing. The food tasted exquisitely at a very social price and that for prime and naughty. Lovely beer from local brewery Snowdon.
My review of 3 stars indicates that this restaurant is average. To receive 4 stars, it would need to be very good, and 5 stars would be perfect. Unfortunately, it did not meet these standards for us. The hotel/restaurant has a very traditional decor and seems to have its regular visitors, which is charming. The food, which was the main reason for our visit, was not great, to be honest. It pains me to write this as the bar and waiting staff were so pleasant and attentive. I ordered a curry, which came in a large portion, and my partner had the lamb shank. The generous portions affected the presentation, which was lacking. The taste of my curry was just okay, but as a fan of curries, I prefer a well-spiced and flavorful dish. The naan bread was a bit tough, and unfortunately, I only managed to eat about a third of my meal. My partner enjoyed the lamb shank and finished the entire dish. I probably would not choose to return, but the exceptional service makes it difficult to write this negative review.

We had dinner twice at the brasserie of the hotel. The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious and served on big plates. The daily specials are really nice! You can ask for them when ordering. As a vegetarian I loved the broccoli and blue cheese quiche.
Reasonably priced menu, with fair choice of food. Pleasant host and waiting staff who will tend to your service and delivery with a smile. Chef does a great job, food lovely. Extensive wine list also good selection of spirits. Suitable for families and couples alike, nice quiet atmosphere. Will hope to return when in North Wales.
