Description

Food and wine are abiding passions at the Dunoon. Our two AA Rosette-rated food is both fine and flavoursome, crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared with care and attention. The elegance of our dining room and the subtlety of our service create an atmosphere of refined comfort. Tables are adorned with flowers, fine china, and heavy Sheffield steel cutlery, all heralding the quality to come. Each dish is carefully considered and expertly produced to deliver a dining experience of the highest standard. While presentation is tasteful, we focus primarily on bold, memorable flavours—because great food speaks for itself. Excellence and affordability guide everything we do. Our wine list takes you on a spirited journey through renowned wine regions as well as lesser-known areas producing remarkable hidden gems. We choose characterful and intriguing wines, often overlooked but consistently outstanding. Familiar favourites like Pinot Grigio, Beaujolais, or Bordeaux feature only if they meet our high standards of taste and quality. Unlike many establishments that mark up wines excessively, we ensure outstanding quality at sensible prices, making the excellent truly affordable and the affordable genuinely excellent. For a uniquely distinctive private dining experience, the Dunoon offers the Fellows Suite. This refined, tranquil space evokes the elegance of a bygone era, paired with hospitality perfectly suited to your occasion. Here you and your guests can indulge in our delightful two AA Rosette five-course menu, served by your dedicated waiting team. Whether for an intimate dinner, a family reunion, or an important business meeting, private dining at the Dunoon promises to exceed expectations. For the definitive private dining venue in Llandudno, look no further. We’re also proud to introduce our new restaurant Next Door, a vibrant addition born from the Phoenix project at the Grand Hotel. This standalone venue serves the finest local ales, gins, and artisan coffee alongside innovative and delicious small plates, sharing plates, and classic starter, main, and dessert options. To ensure your table is ready upon arrival, we recommend booking in advance. Stayed for 2 nights with a group of 12 golfers. The Dunoon offers excellent accommodation and great food. The atmosphere is welcoming and slightly old fashioned, but our group love it. Wide range of choice for breakfast, the same for dinner. The waiting staff are excellent, and very attentive. No request is too difficult. The small snug room at the front of the hotel is great for an after dinner drink and chat. Hotel is well positioned and has easy parking nearby. One highlight of our stay was when one of the waiting staff joined in our impromptu after dinner quiz. Unique and slightly quirky; we’ll be back next year. Thanks.

I went to this restaurant with a group of six (three couples) and we stayed for two nights, including bed and breakfast and evening meals. The hotel building is impressive, blending traditional and modern styles in the bedrooms. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive. I would definitely come back when I visit Llandudno again.

It 's sad that I cannot review this because the staff informed us in no uncertain terms that we had not booked a table. Despite giving the date it was booked, the fact that a table in the window has specifically been asked for we were told there was no trace of a booking, they had no tables available BUT, we could go to their other restaurant which we did. There were 2 other guests in the place. We asked our host, (a friend who eats out a minimum of 3 times per week) if we should book again there and then replied ' 'I think not ' '.

We absolutely adore The Dunoon for lunch. It is a peaceful haven and the food is truly outstanding. It's no wonder they have received accolades for their culinary offerings. I highly recommend it.
