The hosts added a lovely ‘happy birthday’ sign to the table and service was polite and friendly. Starters were baked brie, mushroom and Stilton bake and mushroom soup. All delicious. We had a mixture of beef, lamb and chicken for mains all served with roast and mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and veg. Great gravy and lovely tender meat. If I’m being picky I would say the portions were a little on the small side, especially the chicken, but we would prefer to eat every scrap of good food than a giant plate of average grub. A chocolate fudge cake and a couple of scoops of ice cream were enough for those needing dessert. Price very reasonable and huge thanks to the honest waiter who realised we had left a credit card behind. Much appreciated. There’s not a lot of choice in the area, so thank goodness this place does a cracking Sunday roast! Recommended.
