I must mention that the customer service needs significant improvement. I arrived alone and went to the bar, which had only one other customer. There were three servers at the bar; one took my order but completely forgot about me. I received no utensils and there was no acknowledgment of my service. I waited more than five minutes trying to get their attention for the bill while they were busy socializing with their coworkers.
The food was amazing! I just wish I could remember the name of our server, but he was courteous, respectful, and provided exceptional service. On our next visit, we intend to sit in the same spot, and if he gives us excellent service again, I’ll definitely tip him a little more than I did last time. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback was that the chips were a bit overly salty, but that’s obviously not the server’s fault.
I ordered a curbside meal for my husband and myself, which included the Original Ribeye Steak, loaded mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. I specifically requested my steak to be cooked medium-rare and triple-checked my order before finalizing it. When I arrived at the Chili's just 1.7 miles from my home, I got there six minutes early, hoping to pick up the meal while the steak was still warm and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, when I finally sat down to eat, the steak was so overcooked it resembled beef jerky—charred in places and extremely tough. Neither my husband nor I could eat it, even when cut into tiny pieces, so I ended up giving it to our dogs. To address the problem, I called and waited on hold for about 20 minutes before being told a manager would call me back—but that call never came. I tried again the next day, experienced the same runaround, and ultimately sent an email. It took four or five days to get a response. On the third day, I called once more and finally spoke with a visiting manager who apologized and corrected my order. The replacement steak was still a bit overcooked, but at least it was tender enough to eat, so I was satisfied. My advice to anyone ordering curbside from Chili’s on FM 78 in Converse, TX, is to carefully inspect your meal before leaving the restaurant. If you’re ordering steak, be sure to cut into it to make sure it’s cooked the way you want. Enjoy your meal!
The atmosphere at Chili's Grill was nice, but we waited a long time to be seated without any staff acknowledging us. Eventually, we gave up and went to the bar. Even there, we weren’t greeted until the bartender asked for our drink order. Once service started, the bartender was very friendly. The food was decent, and the margaritas tasted good, though they were a bit weak. Overall, our experience was okay enough to overlook the initial wait, but since I live nearby, I probably won’t be coming back often.
This Chili's Grill location definitely needs major improvements, as several other reviews have pointed out. I placed a curbside order, and both the customer service and order accuracy were just okay. The situation worsened when my mom found a strand of hair in her meal, as seen in the photo. It's important to note that she has short blonde hair. I sincerely hope the management takes these concerns seriously, as I’m sure we’re not the only dissatisfied customers.
