**Discovering Seafood Heaven: A Mixed Bag at San Antonio’s Hidden Gem** Nestled in San Antonio, this seafood joint has garnered both praise and criticism. Diners rave about the generous portions and flavorful fried seafood platters, with some declaring it a top seafood destination. However, concerns about inconsistent service and order accuracy persist, as several customers experienced delays and mix-ups with their meals. While the menu boasts delightful southern favorites, cleanliness and customer service have been flagged as areas needing improvement. For those willing to navigate its quirks, the promise of satisfying comfort food awaits—just be prepared for a potentially lengthy wait.

What Cynthia Roper dislikes about Bayseas:
Food was hot and delicious. Servers were excellent Cashier is trash! When paying with a credit card while black you have to show identification, white man comes in paying with credit card no identification required. Your true colors showed I will never patronize this location ever again in life. No drum fish!??W.w. white Bay Seas better hands down. View all feedback.
Delicious food and excellent service! The dishes are abundant, fresh, and served hot. Be sure not to overlook this hidden gem!
We ordered the Shrimp and Catfish Special, which included three pieces of each, along with coleslaw and fries. We also added two pieces of cornbread. And let me tell you – that CORNBREAD was phenomenal! The cashier was spot on; it was absolutely the best cornbread I’ve ever had at a restaurant—super moist and packed with flavor. I’d give it a 10/10 without a second thought! The shrimp and catfish were well-seasoned and cooked nicely, though we found ourselves preferring the shrimp over the catfish. The catfish was a bit greasy, which made it less enjoyable, although it still tasted good. The portion sizes were generous, and we certainly had leftovers. However, the fries seemed a little bland and unseasoned. The coleslaw was flavorful but overly drenched in juice. If you enjoy a lot of dressing, you’ll love it, but we prefer a balance, so we’d rate it an 8/10 for taste. For dessert, we tried the chocolate and white chocolate ribbon cake, which was just okay, earning a 5/10 from us. Overall, we would definitely return to Bayseas to explore other menu items that caught our attention, but the shrimp and CORNBREAD were the stars of the meal! The customer service was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We’ll be back for sure!
Every visit to this restaurant has been worth it! I've been dining here since they were located on FM78. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and delicious. Growing up in a small town, I have a soft spot for catfish and crave it from time to time. Whenever I'm in the mood for it, there's only one place I go: Bayseas. They offer great specials and a wide variety of options to satisfy all appetites. I typically order the special, which includes catfish, fries, shrimp, and coleslaw. It's more than enough for two people or one really hungry person. I often leave with leftovers because I can't finish it all. The portions of catfish and shrimp are enormous. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!
Gumbo is fantastic, the portions are big and they are very friendly people . I love the Alligator bites Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: 32oz Gumbo
New location! Seafood done well is the attraction. I had the catfish and shrimp special. My wife had seafood gumbo. My friends had shrimp po-boys. The portions were generous for the price. All were tasty. We all had fried entrees. I'll have to try broiled next time and look for healthier options, but an occasional splurge is okay, right? Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
