I visited The Fleece despite seeing one negative review, and I'm so glad I did. The host was warm and informative, sharing some interesting history about the pub that dates back to 1820. Arrived to an empty bar with 5 other people after a lovely hike in the surrounding area. The Landlord did not make us feel welcome, actually didn’t say a word. Also it was ‘cash only’ at the bar, which may catch some out who visit. There are some beautiful views from pub at the rear, I will never return ! View all feedback.
Been coming to the village for something like 30 years never been in the Fleece until yesterday evening walking the dog. Unlike a previous review I had a warm welcome from landlord landlady as well as the friendly locals . Also a splendid view of the sunset over the Fells.

Only a stranger for the first five minutes. . after and for many visits since to stop one of the most beautiful little places. warm and friendly. long it can stay and we will be back this afternoon thanks to many
The place is located at the edge of the village, and it's a nice spot to enjoy a drink. However, they do not serve food. It is operated by an older couple.
This charming little classic pub offers amazing views at the back. We happened to drive past it on our way to Derwent Manor, and I can see it being a fantastic stop for bikers and travelers alike. The Bombardier beer on tap is delightful!
