Chocolate Passion - Conroe
Chocolate Passion
Description
This Conroe chocolaterie pairs house-made truffles, thoughtful gift boxes and a cozy café with personable staff and generous samples. Patrons praise inventive ganaches and successful small events, yet inconsistency mars the experience: some food felt stale or greasy, and a wedding order resulted in late delivery, poor decoration and unresponsive communication. The shop excels at chocolates, gifts and rehearsal dinners but should be approached cautiously for critical wedding cakes or long-distance orders—inspect deliveries and confirm expectations in writing.

We held our rehearsal dinner at Chocolate Passion this past February, and it was truly delightful! The staff created a stunning setup with beautiful decorations, music, and a fantastic array of food and drinks. We absolutely loved it! It was exactly what we needed and exceeded all of our expectations.
The coffee is fantastic! The chocolate is even better, and the owner is wonderful! I discovered this place this morning and I plan to come here frequently!
It appears that the restaurant is undergoing many changes, but unfortunately, the quality of the food being served is lacking. The ingredients tasted old, stale, and overly greasy. Additionally, the female owner was not very welcoming or friendly.
Fantastic service! I really enjoyed the food. The chocolates are incredible! Miguel is the best!
Unfortunately, I didn’t hear from them until my wedding day. The cakes arrived a mere 30 minutes before I was supposed to walk down the aisle, leaving me no time to inspect them or voice any concerns. When I finally laid eyes on the cakes, I was nearly brought to tears, but not in a joyful way. They looked like they had been crafted by a child at Walmart. We were charged $250 for each cake, but honestly, they should have cost no more than $75 based purely on materials. The cakes were supposed to be adorned with flowers we provided, but that was never done, and the decorations were far from what we had requested. I was informed that I would incur extra charges for the groom's cake since it would be a carved cake. However, what I received was a half-sheet cake simply covered in black fondant—no carving at all. After trying to communicate with the wedding venue owner without success, I called Amazing Flavors directly. When I asked for Florencia, the woman on the phone was extremely rude and began yelling at me immediately. All I wanted was her contact number, but she refused to give it. Eventually, I managed to find her number and reached out to her. Although she sounded apologetic and explained that she had been in the hospital the previous week and that the shop assistants had assembled my cake, her explanation did little to alleviate my disappointment. Had I known this, I could have made alternative arrangements, as a few family members, including myself, are experienced cake decorators. We hoped to simply relax and enjoy the wedding without dealing with cake issues. Florencia promised to review some pictures and get back to me, but I never heard from her again. Two weeks later, I followed up and learned that she had consulted a man named Terri, whom I had never heard of before. Florencia claimed he was the owner of Chocolate Passion. I was puzzled about why he was involved since I had ordered my cake through Amazing Flavors, her business operating out of the same facility. Terri flat-out refused to issue a refund, stating that I should have raised concerns on the day of the delivery. However, I didn't have the chance to inspect the cakes before they left, and the supposed wedding coordinator at Shepherd Hill Estates (which I strongly advise against booking) did nothing to assist. My brother had to chase her down just to ensure the delivery person was paid. I cannot recommend Chocolate Passion or Amazing Flavors by Florencia. I don’t live in that area, which is why I relied on my wedding coordinator's recommendation. I should have trusted my instincts. After doing some research, I found numerous professional cake decorators in the area, as well as in The Woodlands, who would actually communicate with clients, treat brides with the respect they deserve, and provide much better quality cakes at reasonable prices. Please take the time to do your research and find someone who will meet your needs—don’t just settle for less.
