Restaurante Frailes - Conkal

We've been to this place 5 or 6 times and always get a good meal. The menu is very traditional fare but presented beautifully. The staff are well trained, helpful and pleasant. this year they have added an English menu, which helps us visitors figure out which treat to try next. The food is very good but the deserts are really amazing, make sure to leave room at the end of your meal. The place is very clean and has an open kitchen. There is indoor seating, however the a/c is usually set at about 18, which is too cool for me, we normally eat on the porch and bring our dogsOn weekends it has become very busy and you might want to go early or make a reservation. They only take cash, no visa or debit cards and they close at 7. Make sure to walk around the grounds as there are some interesting art and sculptures set around the grounds.

The food is totally Yucatecan. Excellent presentation, quality and substance.Menu is Spanish and English is available. Wide variety, well priced, and served with pride. Decor and atmosphere are very pleasant and remove you from any doldrums you may have. The desserts are absolutely wonderful. We wished they were open for evening dining. They do close at 7pm
