Our first time eating here but it will not be our last time if I could give it 100 stars I would. I appreciated that the restaurant was practicing social distancing and the customer service was great. The food was hot delicious. They give you plenty of food for a great price(w/o breaking the bank). YAS YAS YAS! ? Pier 51. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pier 51 Seafood:
I took my wife for dinner with seafood for my birthday, let me first say what a complete disappointment is. The waiting staff was rude, the salads before maid and small, get a 1/2 cup Cole Slav with your meal and the fish is dry. The devastated crab had no crab meat, just the stuff. If you are not 90 years old on a fixed income, do NOT go. I can't stress that enough. I was wondering why the four people in this place... View all feedback.
Food is always great here. I have often eaten and really enjoyed the salad bar with the meal before they stopped during the COVID. Good fresh seafood.
My cousin took me out in the boonies before eating, but Pier 51 is a local almost hidden jewel for large seafood and also a very good cheeseburger! I had never heard of green shrimp, but they call popcorn shrimps Calabash, medium green and big is still Jumbo. Your menu is huge!! I ordered a large plate of green shrimps with homemade onion rings, unsweetened tea. Scott ordered Kalabash shrimps, French fries and half tea. His wife ordered a sweet tea a cheeseburger and seriously fries (they don't like seafood) that Burger had to be 10 ounces.. it was thick!! In the dessert cooler they had coconut cake, chocolate overload cake and a few other choices that looked delicious, but I was too full to try dessert. The waitress is super, but a tad is understaffed, so if you go... be understanding (you still get great service and great food).
We were cautiously optimistic given some of the recent reviews. We should have taken caution and went somewhere else. Our waitress was great and the only reason why we didn't complain. The only thing that taste good were the shrimp and baked sweet potatoe. Our fish did not taste like fish...it didn't taste like anything and some of us had the salt and pepper seasoning. If it wasn't for the shape I might have thought my perch was tilapia. We had to cut our scallops with a knife. Scallops should be fork tender. I suspect they were manufactured scallops. They didn't taste like scallops nor did they have the texture or appearance of scallops. The price was right. The portions was better. We will never return.
We had an EXCELLENT waitress, and every staff member was friendly and helpful. .....but, the food was just OK, and it took 2 hours before we got it from the time we ordered. It took an hour to get drinks, and there were hardly any bodies in the building. I chose the boiled shrimp. I was told it was boiled in seasoned water....in the photo, you can TELL its BLAND AS HELL. But, I did however enjoy the salt and pepper catfish and the baked potato!! The salad dressings are house made, which were excellent!! They have an old time candy stand, and I copped me some old school candy cigarettes for the ride home!!!
