Everything was amazing. Sweet potato fries were the best I’ve had. The bacon chicken wrap (subbed with cauliflower) was really good. My favorite was the shebang chicken sandwich so juicy and the sauce is amazing View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Elk Brewing Comstock Park:
Went here for a flight and the cider the bartender accidentally gave us was the best drink here. I was not too impressed by the beer at all and the inside was super small compared to how big the building was. However, the staff were all super friendly and nice, and the inside was very clean and had an 'outdoorsy ' vibe to it which I thought was cool View all feedback.
Everything about this brewery is pretty average. We were brewery hoping one afternoon and decided to go a little out of our way outside of the city to try Elk and were not blown away. The service was also sub-par, our waitress forgot one of the apps we ordered and they were not overly friendly Atmosphere review: The building looks massive but the actual seating area is very small and pretty clinical looking, nothing special to it at all. Beer review: The beer was definitely better than average! I tried the habanero IPA and was pleasantly surprised! If you like spicy beer, then you will LOVE this! By the end of the pint the spicy-ness was in full force. Great flavor! I also tried to Gose and was also pleasantly surprised, not too tart or sweet. It was a very light, easy drinking Gose and very refreshing on a hot day Food review: Stay AWAY from the wings, they were the most disappointing wings I may have ever had, and yes, I know how bold of a statement that is. They were very over-cooked and not great flavor. The sweet potato fries, on the other hand were fantastic! They had an awesome seasoning on them and the dipping sauce I could have drank by itself (well, maybe not, but you get the point). All and all this could be a fine place if you know what to order but there are definitely better breweries out there! (I also heard the brussels were great but didn't have them myself)
While the location is convenient and they have outdoor seating, there isn't a ton of seating. Our server was kind but not very attentive; we waited quite a while to get our bill. Being that I'm not a beer drinker, I was bummed that my only options were beer water or soda. We had a group of 7 and we also ordered pretzels and beer cheese, chips and 2 kinds of fries (regular and Cajun). The food was hot but just okay nothing to write home about but also not disappointing. I ordered the lime gose as that was the best option that would bring me close to a cider. I would say if you're a beer drinker, you may like the options better; they appeared to have a good variety. If they eventually get more alcoholic options, I'd be happy to come back and sit outside and try some of the other food options.
We were staying at the Tru by Hilton right down the street so this brewery was the perfect place for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, no seating was available inside so we had to eat on the patio. The patio is great but make sure you bring a sweater cause it can get really chilly! I went with an IPA beer because not a single lager was on menu, which happens to be my favorite. We also decided to each get the chicken sandwich and it was pretty much like any other chicken sandwich I've ever had. Overall, if I happened to be staying at the Tru again I would probably come back.
Did not know of this place. What a absolute great surprise. I was staying at the Comfort Suites, so it's walking distance to this place. I sampled two beers one was a cucumber blueberry gose and it was very good also sampled the cucumber watermelon this was fantastic so fantastic I got a pint. This beer was super smooth and very flavorful you could actually taste both the cucumber and watermelon. The food was also good had the pulled pork sandwich the bbq sauce was very good. The sandwich had the pork coleslaw and pickles. The slaw was creamy. The fries were crispy on the outside and very flavorful. Kelli our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She was prompt and on top of everything. This place really makes want to come to the west side of the state sooner than later.
I really enjoyed stopping by Elk Brewing. We were looking for a quick sip as we were lazily bumming around GR and they fit the bill. They had a patio available, with tables spaced out, which helps us feel better during this COVID situation. All staff were masked up, as were other patrons when they were not moving about the restaurant. A+ for that aspect. I tried their Dankalicious IPA, and it was resiny, aggressive, and dank, just how I like my IPAs : My husband also liked his beer, although I cannot remember what he ordered. I did not try any food, but will make it a point to stop here again when we visit the area. Overall, we were impressed with the service and beer, and hope to be back soon!
