Sometimes it's better not to write reviews, right? Because it's the wrong time, because it happens, with no one to blame for unfortunate events, but pure chance as this world is; other times because you're slow, like Denise Bernardo. I wanted (almost needed) a coffee and I had one, sitting down, overlooking the lake, at a ridiculous price (on par with Finale or other tourist destinations in Liguria), during aperitivo time. Thankfully, there were free seats, but no one even hinted that I should move on. Sure, the outdoor seating is a little cramped, but Como already has too many fat people. For what I asked for, I absolutely received 5*. Anyone who tries something else will be free to write a different, or even useless, review, written by someone who's only had a coffee since.
The pizza was good, the pasta was so-so, and the portion was small (despite being considered large)
We went to this bar to watch the football final because it was one of the only bars that allowed it. The waiters were overwhelmed, and it didn't match the moment. Luckily, the crowd was friendly.
Very informal and friendly service. Simple but well-stocked drinks menu. Very pleasant place.

Good location on the plaza. We had the Carcurtie plate and a couple of glasses of wine for lunch. And coffee later that afternoon. The service was kind of slow, they were friendly, just not focused on taking care of clientele.
We had delicious paninis with ham cheese and tomato and a coffee. Like most pavement cafes there are many small tables crammed into a small space, but service is quick and efficient. Nice setting though in an historic square.
I visited Como as one of a party of friends attending a wedding during our stay. We spend several evenings at Bar Volta, Usually meeting up for a cocktail etc. after our dinner (elsewhere). A very good location for people watching and reasonable priced drinks. I didn't personally eat here so can't comment on the food, but a large group of our party did dine there one evening and, as they were such a large group, they were given a really good deal and didn't complain about the food.
It was a rainy Saturday night and we ran into the first welcoming restaurant that we found in the plaza and hoped for the best. Big mistake! The meal was less than average and was served with all the enthusiasm of my wilted lettuce. Tomato sauce on the gnocchi could have been straight out of a can no flavor! Service was slow despite the appearance of plenty of staff. On a good note, it was a great location for people watching and they had a full bar with a TV so if you're not eating than this is the place for you.
Just a few words, as I really hate being negative. The waiter who took our order, brought our food etc. didn't interact with us at all. He seemed to be more interested in talking with his mates than his customers. Now that's not good. But the problem is that the food was worse than the service. Two plates of apparently reheated/overlooked lasagne and aubergine bake. That was it nothing more was on the plate; was a nice fresh side salad on its way? Sadly not. We were hungry that's why we chomped through it, rather than sent it back to the kitchen. It's Italy for goodness sake. The home of wonderful food. What's gone wrong? And the problem is if you're going to serve food that atrocious your service needs to be exceptional to compensate. And I'm afraid boyo was off sick when they did the bit about customer service at catering school.

Nice location in the square, but they don’t have every other thing they write on the menu. Dissappointed…. We just had coffee and brioche that was alright.
I ordered the prawn and Mozzarella pizza, at €24 I was expecting something really beautiful. How disappointed I was. The pizza arrives with RAW prawns on it, raw seafood can be very dangerous to eat if not prepared properly, I'm not taking that risk on holiday .... Absolutely nowhere on the menu does it tell me that the prawns are RAW.(yes completely raw, not just kind of). I would not eat it for obvious reasons. It was brought to the waiters attention and nothing was done about it. I had to pay the full bill for a pizza, which was really disappointing. We had two other pizzas for my family which were pretty tasty. If its not mentioned on the menu at least advise the customer when they are making the order that the prawns come RAW on the pizza.
Lovely place for drinks and snacks. We came for evening drinks and had aperol spritz which also came with crisps, breadsticks, mini pizza slices and salami. All cocktails were €7-8 which is a fair price for the area and with the snacks it’s well worth it. The staff were friendly, service a little slow but it was busy and the staff were working hard.
Quick service (with a smile). Good portion size for the price... and affordable, considering this is a central area.
We had some relatively good pizzas here, but not the best of our visit to Como. Tasty but not excellent. Sat outside and had good views of the square and a prettily laid out and lit table. Wait staff were somewhat curt and inattentive, seemed to be quite understaffed so they were all very busy. Would recommend for a cheap bite to eat, but not a big meal
