Chiosco Al Molo - COMO

My friends and I look to visit como for a day, and that was the first to load that we saw to buy ice. the dame in serving had short hairs and was extremely rude. my friend first bought the ice from there and it tasted...awful I asked the lady if I could taste one of the aromen and she refused to let one of us taste the aromen. all the Gelato sites that I have allowed them to taste the aromen, so I found it strange that they would not allow us and in hint it was likely because they knew that the icream was bad or she was just rude. we have been looking for another place called i tre santi 2 minutes away, the amazing gelato and great customer service we had also at a place called ox that was really good for eating. Finally, I would not recommend that you eat here especially not buy the ice.

For a good price lunch in Como-stop here. we had bruschetta a lasagne, both of which were very reasonable. a prosecco beer helped wash the food. service was efficient. great view!

Unforeseen tree-covered caffe on the ufer des comer sees. a beer and a piece of lasagne give them a taste of italia and do not break the bank.

By the lake, under trees and with no traffic in front is the 'Chiosco Al Molo ', the 'kiosk by the pier ' with nice outdoor seating. It is a pleasant place to unwind and to look over lake Como. At the backside is the small railways...station of the 'Ferrovie Nord Milano '. When I told the friendly waitress what I wanted, she replied smilingly 'ah, una spritza! ', what officially in Italy is called a 'Spritz ', a lately very popular summer drink, which consists of Aperol, Prosecco and Soda Water. Aperol, an aperitif originally from Padua, but now belonging to Campari, is made from bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb and cinchona and has a rather low alcohol content. Normally the 'Spritz ' gets served in a big wine glass with stem, but not at the Chiosco, where it was brought in a regular water glass (the only slightly negative point for me). With it came all kind of nibblies as so often happens here in Como: Potato and Corn Chips, Peanuts, Tomato on a slice of fried bread, Crudo (cured ham) on a Taralli biscuit and Mortadella on a cracker. Most surprising are the prices, way below of what one usually pays around here. The Spritz comes at 4 €, when just a bit further down one would pay 7 €.
