This restaurant is fantastic! There's a popular spot just around the corner, but we found this gem when we couldn't get a table there. Now, it's our go-to place after church and for meetings. The food is incredibly fresh, the wait times are not too long, and the service is outstanding. You absolutely have to try the spuds or any dish with spuds in it, like the chic salad. The food here is absolutely delicious! The service is nice, although a bit frantic at times. I had to remind the server about my coffee, but she was really kind and promptly refilled it. The coffee itself was great, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes of the food!

I just visited this location for the first time, and it was the best breakfast I've had in ages! I ordered the eggs Florentine from the specials menu and added a side of hollandaise, which was absolutely amazing. The flavors complemented each other perfectly, and I left feeling completely satisfied. As a brunch enthusiast who works at a brunch spot, I'm always on the lookout for great places to enjoy a meal, and I found one here! Our server, Angie, was busy but incredibly attentive, always maintaining a positive attitude and a friendly smile. I will definitely be returning and hoping to enjoy the same dish again. It truly made my morning! Incredible experience—thank you!

The decor was fresh and modern, creating an upscale atmosphere. However, I would recommend that they invest in a small broom or sweeper to tidy up the carpet. There was quite a bit of paper littering the floor both under tables and in the walkways, which undermined the classy ambiance and made the carpet look dirty—a small issue that could have a significant impact on the overall impression of the place. As for the food, there was a great selection of both lunch and breakfast items. I chose the daily special for breakfast: a BBQ pork hash served with two eggs and toast. The hash was house-made with smoked pulled pork and was incredibly delicious. I ordered my eggs cooked over medium, and they were perfect. I requested dry wheat toast, but it came out buttered; this didn’t bother me, though, and wasn’t worth mentioning at the time. My wife ordered a club sandwich that came with fries and pickle spears, which is quite uncommon these days and often incurs an additional charge. Including those items made the price very reasonable. Her sandwich was massive, and the fries were cooked excellently. We both prefer seasoned or coated fries, and these did not disappoint. My wife ended up only eating half of her sandwich because she wanted to enjoy the fries while they were hot. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. Overall, we had a really enjoyable lunch at a fair price. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try—you might just find a new favorite spot! We are likely to return if we find ourselves working in that area again.

On Sunday, after being seated, Jenn—our friendly server from previous visits—approached with her warm smile and handed us two menus while offering us coffee. Throughout our meal, the flow of hot coffee matched the lively conversation, and I must say, it’s the best coffee I’ve had in the area. There’s no waiting around for refills here; the servers are attentive, constantly moving around, refilling cups, and checking in on guests. My friend and I stuck to our usual breakfast choices. Within minutes, he received a tower of pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and maple syrup, alongside a side of ham. His breakfast looked ready for the cover of Bon Appétit, and he couldn’t stop raving about the pancakes and ham. I enjoyed my Tooka omelet, which was delicious as always, along with rye toast and breakfast potatoes that perfectly complemented it. This is a fantastic spot for breakfast any day of the week. While I haven’t tried lunch at Recipes, the offerings I reviewed looked mouthwatering. If you find yourself near Haggerty Road between 13 and 14 Mile Roads and are in search of a place for breakfast or lunch, look no further than Recipes—you won’t be disappointed!
