This restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere, providing a nice escape from the hustle and bustle. The outer deck is lovely, though it does fill up fast. I tried the Rubber Bear, and it was definitely a good choice if you're looking for a filling meal. Overall, it was pretty tasty. I plan to return to check out the dinner scene! View all feedback.
Good eating on our road trip.! the capt woman gail travels to orange beach, al decided on the way down to stay the night in columbus, ms (istly west point, ms). during our trip we have tried various restaurants in the Columbus area, because we are always happy to be in the possession of non-chain restaurants, we decided on proffitt 's porch. it was something outside the beaten path that was dark when we arrived, could not see how the advertised vision of the sea. it was a very eclectic setting, which we consider as an americana type restaurant. if they 're looking for a 5 star restaurant, pp does not show imaginary plates, cutlery or a romantic environment, but eating not disappointed us! This is certainly fast, as we noticed that some other customers obviously knew each other. After we previewed some other opinions about urb spoon, we wanted to try the red beans rice and the seafood gumbo. they were loaded with sausages that had as good as I had in the quarter in new orleans. the rubber bear was just as good as a good taste mixed with good sortiment at sea goodies throughout! for dinner I had the seafood in the warm pita. I had the 1 2 size it could not barely eat all very good portions for the $7 it costs. for desert gail I split the choc chess pie now I am a Diehard chocolate fan that was really good. beautiful gooey served hot with fresh whipped cream. the service staff were friendly very attentive. price was great; 2 beer sandwiches suppe bohnen $38 buckos! our only complained. that we had not trusted in the opposite, we had to rely on mrs. gps to get us there. unfortunately, the address has not sent us to the right place. we knew we were close, so after a phone call to the restaurant, they were great to lead us to our goal. if again in this area would definitely see another customer eating the French dip looked real yummo! tomorrow to golf.
Food is as good as ever, I just wish they could expand the menu some more. Especially dinner entrees.
Delightful meal and even more delightful owner! Thanks for the directions and the wonderful meal last Sunday. We will be back!
Love love love Proffitt's! Seafood on French with a cup of famous Red Beans and Rice is so delish. On pretty days we sit out on the deck and I even bring my dog once in a while, the Proffitt's are animal lovers which also is a big plus!
#1 for me. I find myself craving their food all the time. My absolute favorite is the red beans and rice. I once happily waited an hour at my table to get a hot bowl of it because the power had gone out. It's homemade and never disappoints. The sandwiches are good also, and they have the best sweet tea. Sitting on the patio watching the hummingbirds completes a great experience. It's so worth the drive.
