Description

Tucked at the Broad and High intersection in downtown Columbus, this casual taqueria serves fresh, affordable street-style tacos, standout guacamole and flavorful steak and birria options. Bright, clean and fast-moving, it offers multiple ordering routes (kiosks, counter, GrubHub), grab-and-go seating with city views and TVs. Staff are friendly and efficient, though pickup signage and layout can be confusing. Expect limited parking and somewhat inconsistent posted hours; ideal for students and lunch crowds seeking quick, satisfying Mexican fare.

As we walked in, we spotted order kiosks and, thinking it might be a ghost kitchen or something similar, we started entering our orders. After placing our orders, we followed some voices to what we assumed was the waiting area. To our surprise, we found ourselves in a full restaurant with an order line and a cashier. We were a little confused about how the pickup worked—whether we’d be called or needed to let the cashier know we were there. After taking our seats, a friendly staff member soon brought out our food trays. I ordered a flour street taco along with another taco that I think was pork. Both were quite tasty—not extraordinary, but definitely enjoyable. The pico de gallo was fresh and delicious, which I appreciated. If I'm in that part of downtown again and the other taco place has a long line, I would definitely give this spot another chance.

As an OSU student, I ordered through GrubHub, and I have to say, I'm impressed. Originally from San Diego, California, where I grew up in the barrio, I really miss the taquerias back home. Cinco's steak tacos take me right back to the street tacos I used to enjoy from Humberto's Taqueria in my old neighborhood. The marinade is spot-on, the guacamole is incredibly fresh, and it brings back memories of my community and the shops we frequented in Tijuana. Thank you for providing a little taste of home!

I ordered the Birria tacos, and my partner chose the steak street tacos. It was my first time trying Birria, and it was delicious!
