Reviews summary
Dining at this restaurant reveals a blend of delightful and disappointing moments. While unique dishes, like the Dilemma Chicken Sandwich and Loaded Grilled Cheese, impress with bold flavors and generous portions, service proves inconsistent. Some patrons rave about attentive staff, particularly Lexi, whose hospitality enhances the experience. However, others faced long waits and inattentive service, leading to frustration. Despite these hiccups, the ambiance remains inviting, and side dishes like sweet potato fries and hearty kids’ meals stand out. Overall, the restaurant presents an intriguing menu worth exploring, albeit with a call for improved service consistency.

Lexi was the best server we've ever encountered. She was incredibly friendly and absolutely stunning. We dine out three times a week, and we've never had such a fantastic experience. We even noticed her assisting guests at tables that weren't hers. It would be great if every server were like her. Thank you, Lexi, for making our visit so enjoyable! View all feedback.
What Carolina Lund dislikes about Champps:
I ordered this burger without the applewood bacon, but certainly didn’t expect such a disappointment. Asked for it to be cooked medium and it definitely came out closer to medium-well. The flavor was completely bland and dry, I suspect it was not a wagyu burger patty but could not make such a determination for certain. I would not recommend ordering the bourbon wagyu burger whatsoever. It was certainly not worth the... View all feedback.

We're still waiting for our order, which we placed 75 minutes ago! The restaurant isn't busy, so this wait time is quite frustrating!
The chicken wings were too tough, almost like jerky, and my husband's chicken sandwich was so overcooked that he had to use a steak knife to cut it.
The food arrived undercooked, with part of the Nashville hot chicken sandwich being raw! It's disappointing to see this once vibrant campus restaurant decline in both food quality and service. It feels like customers are not valued here; you're just another table they don't really care about. There's clearly a lack of strong leadership.
This place is such a disappointment we’ve been there a few times the last few months Due to the fact that my mentally challenged brother-in-law is suffering stomach cancer at the James we really wanted to like it .place has a great atmosphere the food is good but it’s the worst service we’ve ever had we keep trying to go back and give them another chance and we just keep leaving frustrated and disappointed. We both have been in the restaurant business for over 35 years and we understand Covid and short staffed but there’s no excuse for rudeness the manager should really do something about their staff

The staff went above and beyond to cater to our large group. The menu is truly exceptional! I enjoyed every single moment we spent there.
The food was quite unique and overall, it was pretty tasty. Although the sweet potato fries were a bit overcooked, they still had a nice flavor. The Dilemma Chicken sandwich exceeded my expectations; I wasn't sure how the combination of fried chicken breast and egg would work, but our server mentioned it’s currently the most popular item on the menu. My curiosity got the better of me, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. My wife ordered the Loaded Grilled Cheese and really enjoyed it as well. They definitely didn’t hold back on the ingredients. It's a fantastic place to try some unconventional dishes!

The food was quite unique and overall tasty. The sweet potato fries were boiled, but they had a nice flavor. The Dilemma Chicken Sandwich exceeded my expectations; I wasn't sure how the combination of fried chicken breast and egg would work, but the server mentioned it was currently the most popular item on the menu. My curiosity got the best of me, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. My companion ordered the Loaded Grilled Cheese and really enjoyed it. They didn't skimp on the ingredients. This is a great spot to try something different from the usual fare.
Always great food and good service. Sometimes the amount of food you get for the money seems a bit small, but honest... who doesn't need to eat less at all?!
Kids meal was good and sizable for the price. Some come with sides, others don't (fries were extra but only $1). It says on the website that it comes with a sundae but I didn't see it on the menu and has to ask. Nachos were already getting soggy by the time they got to the table (my only complaint) but they were still really good, tons of toppings and I ate them as a meal and there were tons of leftovers. I'm taking them and most of the fries to my hubby now! Atmosphere and server were awesome.

If you're looking for a better experience, I'd recommend Chumpps instead. Champps has multiple locations in the Midwest, particularly in vibrant college towns. Essentially, it's an upscale sports bar that...
I waited 45 minutes for my order to be taken. The restaurant was typically quite empty, so I’m not sure what the issue was. Perhaps it’s a problem with the staff?
