I absolutely adore this hidden gem in the city! The food is fresh, and their soups and sandwiches are simply amazing. They offer a special every day, and if you see the seafood bisque on the board, don’t miss it—I’m already getting hungry just thinking about it! The owners and staff are wonderful; even when they're busy, they always take a moment to connect with you, which makes me feel valued. And be sure to try the bread pudding—it's a must! It's a recipe from grandma and the family, but you'll have to ask about Grandma Olive to learn more.
This is my favorite café in downtown! The owner is incredibly friendly. With his delicious pastries, charming decor, and an impressively extensive drink selection, he truly brings a taste of the UK to central Columbus. The macchiato is outstanding! They offer over 60 varieties of tea, along with floats and other treats. Happy hour runs from 3 to 6 PM, during which some pastries are just $1. Plus, they use REAL CHOCOLATE in their drinks!
Without a doubt, the BEST hot chocolate in Columbus! It was so delicious that I drank about half of it before I remembered to take a picture. The coffee is fantastic as well. Café Phenix is more than just an espresso shop; they offer a wonderful selection of house-made pastries, soups, sandwiches (try the Croque Monsieur), quiches, salads, and more. The service is always warm and friendly, and you're likely to see Gary, the owner, on most days. He's not only a great barista but also a wonderful conversationalist. Parking can be a bit tricky at times, but you can usually find a meter within a block or two.
Really tasty cappuccino, served in a nice glass mug, even comes with a spoon and napkin (for Columbus that is almost worth mentioning). Can't really find anything to complain about can't go wrong with this place for a coffee in downtown I'd say!
