After dining at Tellers for both lunch (many times! and dinner as well as popping in during a somewhat ill conceived night of downtown bar hopping, I can say this is a real gem of a place. From the wraps and sandwiches to the occasional special soups that show up, I have been pleasantly surprised every time. Once, they had a spinach soup--sounds awful, right? It was the best! The art work on the walls changes every once in a while. Some very cool pieces of art live here.I've experienced pleasant, attentive service. A full, well stocked bar with entertaining bartenders rounds out the experience.

I was craving Chinese but since I was along for the ride ended up at this place for the first time. This was a very pleasant surprise! Good menu, good food, will certainly stop by again. Definately made it towards the top of my list.

I was traveling through Columbia and decided to try Tellers for lunch. They had very reasonably priced meals for a somewhat upscale trendy restaurant. I had a lovely sushi grade tuna steak sandwich with some curly fries; but the person I was dining with had a nice chicken breast sandwich with the default sweet potato chips; which I thought were even better than the fries that I had upgraded to. Overall it was a very good lunch experience and I would definitely visit again if I'm back in Columbia.

However, this past Saturday, my wife and I ordered... read more The Jamaican Jerk Chicken has always been exceptional, making it one of my go-to restaurants for many years. However, this past Saturday, my wife and I ordered our usual dishes and I was surprised by how spicy the chicken was. I understand that it's easy to over-season food, especially when the restaurant is busy. When the waiter checked on us, I mentioned that the spice level was too much and that we needed more water. My wife usually handles heat better than I do, but she could barely finish hers and was quite displeased. I only managed to eat about a quarter of mine before I had to stop. The hostess came over to see if we were done, and I explained that I had trouble eating my meal because it was so spicy. Her reply was that “some people's taste buds are just different.” While I appreciate that everyone's palate is unique, I’ve ordered this dish at least 50 times and it has always been fantastic until now. When the waiter brought the bill, he seemed to sense my dissatisfaction with both the meal and the service, but he didn't apologize or offer to address my concerns. I reluctantly paid the bill and tipped reasonably, but I think it will be some time before I decide to return.

We only found out... read more The credit card machine was out of order due to a larger outage, which would have been helpful to know before we ordered our food and drinks. We only found out about this when we got our check, and they then directed us to an ATM a block away. Given the overall poor service, it wasn't too surprising.
