It appears that the staff at the front counter are not focused on providing good service to customers. I recently encountered this unfortunate situation just a few minutes ago.

Unfortunately, the service was lacking as the pers... read more I recently visited the restaurant on 25/12/2021 around noon and ordered an Americano with a chocolate muffin. Unfortunately, the service was lacking as the person at the counter seemed disinterested and more focused on their cellphone than helping customers. The tables had not been cleaned after the previous customers left, which was disappointing. It's no surprise that some of their outlets had to be closed considering the lack of attention to detail.

When I... read more I had a meeting scheduled for 12:15 pm on December 20, 2021 with two business partners, one from Dubai and one from Sri Lanka, at Bread Talk in Wattala. When I arrived at 12:15 pm and waited for the meeting to start, I received a call from my partner at 12:35 pm requesting we change to a lunch meeting due to the time. As I was about to leave, I was approached by a cashier who questioned why I was in the lounge and insisted that I purchase something in order to sit there. I explained the situation, but she was not willing to listen and I felt pressured to buy something just to save face in front of other customers. This experience was embarrassing and shameful, and I felt as though I was being treated like a troublemaker instead of a valued customer. I have attended many meetings at coffee shops and lounges, but have never encountered such poor service. I am not seeking compensation, but urge you to educate your team on proper hospitality and respectful communication with customers. It is important not to judge all customers based on one negative experience, as it could harm the international reputation of Bread Talk. While the bakery may excel in creating delicious treats, it lacks the professionalism needed for business meetings. I have learned from this incident and will ensure my own customer care team avoids making similar mistakes. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Bread Talk and will not recommend it to others. Plus the place had a strong odour coming from somewhere. Anyways good quality and would go again!! Anyhow staffs are friendly, foods quality is ok and atmosphere is good and place is clean.!!
