The place is beautiful and the staff was amazing. There was a storm where the owner was very funny. He said we have nothing to fear. Which better place to drive a storm, then a wine cellar with a cork screw. Definitely recommend our favorite vineyard. We liked everything we tried. My Gf hates dry wines and the bartender got them to try a dry white they have and she loved it! Very recommended! Many times has not been... View all feedback.

We discovered Contessa Wine Cellars on a beautiful winter Sunday while exploring Michigan after staying in South Haven. As we arrived, a lovely couple was just leaving, and once inside, we were treated to a private wine tasting hosted by the owner, Tony! It was, without a doubt, the best wine tasting experience we've ever had. Tony's knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to our family and enjoyment made it truly special. The atmosphere was fantastic, featuring a collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia that added to the charm of the place. As a family-owned business, it carries a warm essence that we loved. We already can't wait to return on our next weekend getaway! The wine is the best in Michigan, and Tony is undoubtedly one of the coolest owners you'll ever meet. We left with three bottles as a keepsake of the wonderful memories we made. As Dino famously said, "Memories are made of these!" Cheers!
The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the deck offers breathtaking, relaxing views! It's a peaceful setting. There's a great selection of affordable wine tastings. It's the perfect place for a Sunday Funday!
I will be going back to Contessa's the next time I'm in the area. The wine and the wine tasting are priced fairly, Mellisa did a great job as hostess, Ed (The Owner) was super friendly and informative, Beautiful views, all around a very pleasant experience. Nice distinguished atmosphere....
So friendly and great wine every time we have walked in. They even remembered us from a year ago! Not local to use but plan on coming back at least once a year if not more!
On a weekend camping getaway and decided we wanted to put our nice clothes on and do some wine tasting. Tons of options in the area (found out they do a wine trail during the off season) will be back to try that! But we chose Contessa Wine Cellars. The location on top of a very high hill gave beautiful views and a wonderful breeze! The location was great and the staff was exceptional! Fantastic knowledge about their wines and even suggested we run down the hill first to grab some cake balls and chocolate bark to munch on while we sip. All in all this is a must visit if you're in town or passing through!
