Had a delicious meal in the fortified town of Colmars des Alpes. Very generous portion: so big that even my husband couldn't finish it : .

Beautiful terrace in the shade, but also a nice cool indoor room, you eat well there, the menu is simple, but it honors local products. Friendly and welcoming staff.

We came for dinner last summer and were delighted, so we came back this summer for the Médiévales but what a disappointment! Catastrophic experience from start to finish. We arrived at 12:00 p.m., we ordered very quickly, we had been informed that for the grills there would be a bit of a wait, so we waited patiently, then saw that people arrived well after us and who also ordered grills are served, we wait thinking that it will follow for us and around 1:30 p.m. we are asked if the order has been taken, we tell them that yes we ordered more than an hour ago and the waitress had noted and checked that she had noted our 5 dishes... The rosé that we had requested from the aperitif (which was served quickly) was hot, we were brought ice cubes on the side. Rosé is served chilled and brought (even more so in this season) with an ice bucket because the ice cubes in the glass dilute the wine!!! Some potatoes were not cooked. All our salads were served without any dressing and therefore tasteless. I 've never seen this in a restaurant! When I mentioned it at the end of the meal, I was told that normally they put a pot on the tables with something to make the sauce and that you had to ask for it. We then saw that the other tables had had this pot but without having to ask for it. If the salad is not seasoned, the servers must indicate this and bring what is necessary or say that if you wish you can ask for something to season it. One of the hams was burned underneath. One of the waitresses regularly came inside the room to tell other customers, speaking to them in a very loud, unpleasant and dry manner, I only serve on the terrace! when these customers did not even have it. not called. I had called the day before to make a reservation, and was told in a very hasty and unpleasant manner that they were not taking reservations for the Medievals, but on site we heard one of the waiters say to people who were arriving You have reserved? You can come with or without a reservation anyway. and yet these people were not part of a medieval troop. In addition, there was no more soap in the toilets to wash your hands (we reported this when we arrived and when we left 2.5 hours later there was still no soap). The commercial gesture for forgetting to place an order and therefore a service of 5 dishes (including two which could be prepared quickly: mixed platter and salad) approximately 1h30 late was not significant enough. That 's really a lot and a waitress dared to tell us there are hiccups like every time . No Madam in a restaurant, there shouldn 't be hiccups every time and even less so many problems that accumulate. Another waitress (the manager I think) apologized saying that it was because of the Medievals and the troops (there were more ordinary customers than people from the troops) but if you are not able To manage this, you just need to limit the number of clients you accept. We arrived at 11:58 a.m. for precision, to be sure of having a place and not finishing too late (we were the second table inside, we should have been served accordingly)... We we are not the type to complain and on the contrary we always say and insist when we are satisfied, but at this point I can only leave this unfavorable opinion.

Catering in a magnificent setting. All in stone and old parquet floors. Impeccable welcome and service. Very good value for money.

We arrived at the end of service to eat. The waitress was going to light her cigarette, we clearly felt that we were disturbing by nonchalantly telling us that the service was over and that it was up to the staff to eat. Strange welcome for this type of establishment. Rooms: 2 Service: 2 Location: 2
