Lovely little spot inside 8-10 tables.Owners do the cooking and serving.Menu is not large but lots of pasta dishes to choose from. Veal and Chicken as well. They look after you very well and are attentive and very friendly.Food is very good. Parking is a little tight to get into . View all feedback.
What Paris Auer doesn't like about San Diego Italian Restaurant:
We have been here before but our last visit will be our last. Small, dated place with limited menu, and minimum charge per person, no kids menu. So even when your kids aren't hungry, and you plan to have a full meal and bottle of wine, they are charged the minimum. Server didn't smile and treated the kids with outward disdain. As you can see from many of my reviews I try for objectivity and balance but this place is... View all feedback.
Never done this before but this is my first ever restaurant critique for "San Diego Italian Restaurant".
My husband and I always return to this restaurant because we love the food, the atmosphere, the limited seating and the service. Owned by a lovely couple who cook only a few authentic Italian dishes, San Diego Italian Restaurant has been in Collingwood for years and never disappoints. My favorite is the fettucine alfredo and my husband always tries the special of the day. It's quiet, intimate and one of our long time favorites.
We moved to Collingwood recently and decided to take my Mom there when she visited because she is fond of Italian food. what a mistake ! we started to order and were rudely reminded of the minimum order price amount policy per person. When the minestroni soup came I could not believe my eyes as it was served in the smallest soup bowl made in the world and tasteless to boot. Then the ceasar salad came which was garnished with some tasteless creamy sauce. When we asked for some additional parmasean cheese we were again rudely reminded that her husband already puts cheese in the dressing and then relunctanly retrieved the sacred bowl of cheese to sprinkle on our salads. I ordered veal parmasean which arrived luke warm and smothered in vegetables and sauce to hide the fact that it was obviously prepared much earlier and was tough and dried out. i really am not a fussy eater but this dining experience ranks among the worst !
The restaurant was very nice atmosphere.I ordered Margarita Pizza and it was just cheese very flat and basil leave on top.The tables were very close and a party of 4 came in and were soo loud we couldnt even hear each other speak. So kind of ruiened the night.
