Some diners have expressed frustration with long wait times, missing orders, and difficulties getting the attention of servers. There have been complaints about the forced tip policy and inability to split bills for larger groups. On the other hand, many customers have raved about the delicious food, generous portions, and friendly service. The Chicken Parmesan dish in particular has received high praise. Overall, despite some mixed reviews on the service and noise levels, Magnone's seems to be a popular choice for those looking for a casual dining experience in Blue Mountain.
For an expensive restaurant that needs reservations, the ambiance was certainly not real nice. very loud and busy. I get that this restaurant is in the Blue Mountain Village, but that shouldn 't be the excuse to jack prices up real high. The prices however were not the issue with our visit. I viewed the menu ahead of time and knew the prices. We 'll start with simple food. I ordered a pizza pretty hard to mess up a pizza right? wrong! The taste was actually good. toppings were all good and a nice overall flavour but the crust was paper thin and burnt so bad I couldn 't eat most at least half of it. I did eat the toppings and they were ok. I 've made wood fired pizza and it can be made just fine without burning it! The bill: if you pay with credit card, they gouge you an extra 2% so I decided to pay cash. for a $30 $29.66 to be precise bill yes an expensive individual pizza I handed the waiter 2 $20 dollar bills. first off, he had the nerve to ask if I wanted change back like I 'd leave a 33% tip for an overpriced burnt pizza! Then he said that he didn 't have any change and he 'd have to go and find some. Then he comes back and hands me 2 X $5 dollar bills and says I can 't find your 34 cents that I owe you. Not giving me back all my money which I would have left anyway but it 's now a principal thing and forcing me to give a $5 tip 16.5% which I might have done anyway but now its not MY choice was kinda the last straw, especially when you forced me to not use my credit card in the first place! Crappy food, crappy ambiance, crappy prices mediocre service, and crappy payment policies. A lot of strikes!
Forced tip policy is strange. They select the 18 percent tip button for you on the machine and tell you it's their policy that you have to pay it. Also they tell you the policy is they cannot split a bill for a table of 6.
Was there on Thursday for dinner with my friends. Victoria our waitress was nothing but awesomeness. The food was very authentic, and the portions were very generous. Looking forward to a return trip.
Hostess was rude about making a reservation. Waitress was stuffy and patronizing put down wine menu and talked down to us. Food took forever, wouldn’t go back.
We generally enjoy our meals here. Food is good and we find it's one of the better restaurants in the village. But last week when we were about to pay the server said they charge 2% extra for using a credit card. We won't be coming back as long as that's the case.
