One of the best meals we had! great variety with so many options to choose from. we have forgotten to call for reservations, and dawn gnädig offered to open the restaurant for us. the personal was incredibly friendly and attentive. we ate from the small dish menu, and each dish was incredibly unique and tasty with a beautiful presentation. we had 6 small tellers for 3 of us and we were very happy and full of leave. would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Great food and service, the pork belly and stuffed dates were a highlight. We will certainly be back.
We were driving by, on the main street of Coleman, on our way to another restaurant, when we caught sight of Encounters's sign out front. All of a sudden, we got excited. Went in, sat down, and were thrilled. In short, great food, wonderful service!
We were very pleasantly surprised to find such a restaurant in a place like Coleman. And we probably would not have discovered it but for our stay at the Country Encounters BnB across the restaurant. The owners of both establishments is Dawn, who, as I understand, is also a trained chef. The restaurant is open by reservation only so do call ahead. The place is roomy, clean and well presented. Although they were short-staffed, the one person who was serving everyone had the biggest smile and the friendliest attitude. She was just everywhere. We later found out that Quinn was helping out for service although she is one of the chefs. Thank you Quinn! A first look at the menu may make you a little skeptical simply due to the dishes on offer from various cuisines. My wife and I ordered a couple of appetizers and an entrée to share. Every dish was superbly cooked and presented. The sauce on the Tuscan Chorizo appetizer made us briefly consider reordering the dish. The chicken pot stickers were perfectly spiced and the fish and chips were elevated, to say the least. The batter on the fish was glazed with a hint of maple, crispy and not greasy. The fish itself was cooked perfectly and did not separate from the batter. The restaurant also has a good selection of wines although we didn’t order any. We heard from other customers that the Sticky Toffee Pudding was excellent. We couldn’t repeat our visit the following evening as the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. If we are in the area again, this place is going to be our first choice for dinner. We can’t wait to try the rest of their food. Coleman is lucky to have this business. The food makes your taste buds dance and the service makes you happy. The restaurant can cater to people with mobility issues.
Amazing food and service!! A very cool way to have dinner with the small plate menu. A true hidden gem of the Crowsnest pass! We are so thankful we found out about it on our travels.
