Great ambiance when it's busy, it's a nice spot with a decent menu, good selection of common and craft beer, and possibly some ones you might not be familiar with, reminiscent of Gahan if your at the bar. Plus if you're looking for a decent place to take the wife on a dinner date then it's great, just keep in mind it's around the mid range price, $45-60 for two people depending on what you get. Went for some beer and nachos and both wee fantastic! The waiter helped me find a beer I enjoyed and nachos were great. Salsa is homemade with lots of cilantro so if you're not a fan.
After a disastrous non-visit during Burger Week, we decided to give The British Bulldog Gastropub another chance during Taco Week. I’m pleased to report that this visit worked out far better. Their taco offering featured mango braised beef, crispy onions and wait for it) Mac and cheese. At $5.00 a taco, we thought it was excellent value and the tacos were excellent. We also shared 3 sides: onion rings, sweet potato fries and Chili cheese fries. All were also exceptionally tasty. Our server, Brighton I hope she spells it like the town) was excellent- attentive and friendly. An all around good experience. I would go back again. If you read this, please hit “like”!
The missus and I went for the first time tonight on the recommendation of a friend, and we didn't have a single complaint, restaurant was just under half full for a Thursday night, 3 lovely waitress working. We both ordered the scotch egg to start which arrived hot and was very delicious, she had the beef tenderloin which she raved about, I had the bangers and mash, the gravy was simply devine, portion size was great and the food arrived hot. They have a great selection of local beer and wine, we both had Nine Locks Dirty Blonde. Cheesecake for dessert was a hit with the lady, our server Sandy was a gem, very attentive and cheery, exceptional first impression, will be back for sure sooner than later.
Great local gastropub with lots of seating, classic English pub decor and menu. They have an amazing new chef and very excited about the upcoming new menu launch. The daily dinner specials are highly recommended. And nothing beats the sticky toffee pudding! I believe they have Trivia on Tuesdays. Lots of parking. Great service. Brunch on Sundays.
