What pietro90 doesn't like about The Old Crown:
disappointing. a very small choice on the menu. On receiving the bill I queried an item SPLASH POSTMIX £2. It seems that the bottles of Diet Coke that they buy leave the glass 1 inch short so they top it up from a large bottle. I know that things are hard but to charge £2 for 1 inch of Coke is excessive and they can do without my custom in the future View all feedback. What GrahamP113 likes about The Old Crown:
Had not been since before Covid. Had not lost any of its charm and ambiance. From the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel so welcome. No rush and yet the service was spot on. A good choice on the menu and the food was excellent. Already looking to book again View all feedback.

read moreNestled in the charming village of Messing, this restaurant offers a delightful escape with its inviting ambiance and attentive service. Diners rave about the imaginative menu, featuring beautifully presented dishes that cater to various dietary needs, including coeliac and allergy-friendly options. The establishment has retained its welcoming charm since reopening after the pandemic, delighting guests with excellent food at reasonable prices. While some find fault with a limited menu or high charges for add-ons, many declare this spot a hidden gem worth revisiting for its superb Sunday roasts and memorable dining experiences. A must-visit for food enthusiasts!.
