Our experience at The Fox was delightful. The menu was a bit limited and slightly more expensive than expected (there was no indication of prices on the website). For example, the children's meal was £7.50, which is more than I usually pay for my 3-year-old. However, the food was delicious and the pub itself had a charming interior. What MerseaRay doesn't like about The Layer Fox:
We found the main dining area to be very cold due to the main heater not working. When we informed the staff, they did not take the issue seriously. We moved downstairs hoping the log fire would provide some warmth, but unfortunately it was not very effective either. We had a wonderful experience at this cozy pub. The decor was lovely, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was amazing. I had the Mediterranean tart, which was absolutely scrumptious, and my husband enjoyed his fish and chips. We can't wait to come back again soon. We would give the service and location a rating of 5 out of 5. The highlights of the hotel were the quiet atmosphere and great value.
