Contribute FeedbackThis charming café offers a cozy interior and a spacious garden, perfect for enjoying on a nice day with plenty of room for kids. While the food and drinks are a bit pricey, the quality is excellent and the portions are generous. Located next to an art center, it serves light meals and refreshments from the 'Tiptree' company, with consistent quality and efficient service. However, there were difficulties contacting the venue for booking, and some issues were experienced during a birthday celebration visit. Overall, the beautiful café is a lovely spot to visit for good food and drinks in a quirky setting.
I was looking for a venue to celebrate my birthday, and initially had difficulty contacting Grey Friars by phone. I eventually booked online. The notice period for food ordering varied, with both 24 and 48 hours required. Even though I mentioned that this booking was for a birthday celebration with special friends, the occasion was not acknowledged during our visit. The large tea pots made the tea very bitter, and adding more water only diluted the bitterness. It would be better to have smaller pots that are replenished, especially for those with weaker wrists. The food itself was excellent. The noise from the steamer behind our table was quite irritating. The doggy bag provided for taking home leftover cakes was a nice touch for those who couldn't finish their dessert.
This café is charming, with a cozy interior but a spacious garden outside that's perfect for enjoying on a nice day. There is plenty of room for kids to play around. The food and drinks are a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent and the portions are generous.
Great surroundings, friendly staff and delicious drinks and cakes
A character full and quirky venue next door to the art centre. Serves the 'tiptree ' companies range of light meals, snacks and refreshments, so quality is consistent. Staff were helpful and service was efficient. There is also an outside garden for customers to use.
Visit one of the Tiptree Jam factory tea rooms located in the Minories Art Gallery for a unique experience of enjoying tea and cake surrounded by culture.
